Fabrication of structured film (on glassy carbon substrate) composed of compact Prussian Blue (that has been prepared by alternate immersions and through assembling within ultra-thin layers of 4(pyrrole-1-yl)-benzoic acid, PPyBA) and poly(3,4-ethylendioxythiophene), PEDOT, is described. This functionalized film has been characterized by fast charge propagation, and it has served as a redox conducting template for permanent attachment of a model enzyme, horseradish peroxidase, HRP. The resulting organic-inorganic system acts as an effective hybrid bioelectrocatalyst for electroreduction of hydrogen peroxide, a model reactant for biosensors and biofuel cells. Among important issues are rigidity, permanence of enzyme attachment, morphology, hydrophilicity, and attractive mediating capabilities of the PEDOT-stabilized Prussian Blue based structured film.

Prussian blue analogues (PBAs) show great promise as cathode candidates for aqueous zinc-ion batteries thanks to their high operating voltage, open-framework structure, and low cost. However, suffering from numerous vacancies and crystal water, the electrochemical performance of PBAs remains unsatisfactory, with limited capacity and poor cycle life. Here, a simple coprecipitation method is shown to synthesize well-crystallized cobalt hexacyanoferrate (CoHCF) with a small amount of water and high specific surface area.

A AuNSs@PB@Ag-Apt surface-enhanced Raman scattering (SERS) probe has been developed by embedding Prussian blue (PB) between Au core and Ag shell. The PB SERS probe illustrates strong SERS activity in the Raman silent region of 2070 cm, and has a zero background signal, ensuring high sensitivity for the detection of Staphylococcus aureus (S. aureus).

Hybrid polyionic complexes (HPICs) are colloidal structures with a charged core rich in metal ions and a neutral hydrophilic corona. Their properties, whether as reservoirs or catalysts, depend on the accessibility and environment of the metal ions. This study demonstrates that modifying the coordination sphere of these ions can tune the properties of HPICs by altering the composition of the complexing block or varying formulation conditions.

Potassium manganese-based Prussian blue analogs (KMn-HCF) hold great potential as cathodes for sodium-ion batteries (SIBs). However, the rapid synthesis process often results in excessively small particle sizes, increasing surface area and thereby intensifying side reactions with the electrolyte, which can damage the cathode electrolyte interface (CEI) and diminish cycling stability. Herein, we designed a topological phase transition strategy to assemble small KMn-HCF particles into a 600 nm cubic superstructure.

The development of advanced optical probes for point-of-care testing holds great importance in the field of diagnostic technologies. This study focused on the synthesis of a probe featuring both fluorescent and photothermal responses with single excitation wavelength, which was achieved through the combination of oxidized camellia oleifera shell powder (OC) and Prussian blue nanoparticles (PBNPs). Notably, OC derived from the direct processing of raw material showed fluorescent and phosphorescent emissions simultaneously, and the positions of the two peaks overlapped with the absorbance range of PBNPs, making the fluorescent and phosphorescent emissions of OC effectively quenched by PBNPs.
