A variety of 1,3,5-tricarbonyl derivatives were prepared by reaction of 1,3-bis(silyl enol ethers) with acid chlorides under mild conditions. This includes reactions of both aromatic and aliphatic acid chlorides and bis(acid chlorides). The yields vary depending on the type of acid chloride employed.

Maternal immune activation (MIA) induces long-term cognitive impairments by modulating the gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA)ergic system. Experimental evidence suggests that maternal immune challenge with bacterial active ingredient lipopolysaccharide (LPS) reduces GABAergic tone in the offspring's prefrontal cortex. In this study, we aimed to assess whether interleukin-6 (IL-6) contributes to this reduced GABAergic system in the prefrontal cortex of juvenile offspring.

One of the most costly stages of activated sludge wastewater treatment plants is the treatment and dewatering of waste sludge. Chemical conditioning of sludge, as one of the most widespread methods to enhance sludge dewaterability, accounts for a significant portion of operational expenses due to the consumption of expensive polymeric compounds. This research aims to assess the cost-effectiveness of ochre soil, modified with hydrochloric acid, as an affordable mineral for conditioning waste sludge in an activated sludge system.

The interactions of nanoplastics (NPs) with natural organic matters (NOMs) dominate the environmental fate of both substances and the organic carbon cycle. Their binding and aggregation mechanisms at the molecular level remain elusive due to the high structural complexity of NOMs and aged NPs. Molecular modeling was used to understand the detailed dynamic interaction mechanism between NOMs and NPs.

Introduction: The neuron-specific K-Cl cotransporter KCC2 maintains low intracellular chloride levels, which are crucial for fast GABAergic and glycinergic neurotransmission. KCC2 also plays a pivotal role in the development of excitatory glutamatergic neurotransmission by promoting dendritic spine maturation. The cytoplasmic C-terminal domain (KCC2-CTD) plays a critical regulatory role in the molecular mechanisms controlling the cotransporter activity through dimerization, phosphorylation, and protein interaction.

Formamidinium-based perovskites (FA perovskites) often incorporate methylammonium chloride (MACl) to stabilize the α-FAPbI phase and prevent formation of the δ phase. However, MACl undergoes deprotonation and reacts with FA, leading to the generation of unstable byproducts that can cause component degradation and negatively impact the device performance. In this study, we introduce ethylenediaminetetramethylenephosphonic acid as a corrosion inhibitor, which effectively prevents the formation of these byproducts and stabilizes α-FAPbI.
