In this paper, we propose a measuring device implementation to measure ECG, 50KHz BIA for getting BIA/Respiration, and 10~50Hz GSR for measuring electrical characteristics of skin. To this end, BIA signal is separated by line filter and high impedance element and the interference between signals could be minimized by switching in time domain to separate ECG and GSR signals having the similar frequency range. ECG, heart rate and respiration are measured by the simulator based on the implemented circuit and BIA and GSR impedance are verified using standard resistance. Also, we made an experiment this method to human body and found the possibility of detecting bio-signals.

Background: Sepsis, a critical global health challenge, accounted for approximately 20% of worldwide deaths in 2017. Although the Sequential Organ Failure Assessment (SOFA) score standardizes the diagnosis of organ dysfunction, early sepsis detection remains challenging due to its insidious symptoms. Current diagnostic methods, including clinical assessments and laboratory tests, frequently lack the speed and specificity needed for timely intervention, particularly in vulnerable populations such as older adults, intensive care unit (ICU) patients, and those with compromised immune systems.

Direct Frequency Comb Cavity Ring-Down Spectroscopy Using Vernier Filtering.

J Phys Chem A

Division of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering, California Institute of Technology, Pasadena, California 91125, United States.

We present direct frequency comb cavity ring-down spectroscopy with Vernier filtering as a straightforward approach to sensitive and multiplexed trace gas detection. The high finesse cavity acts both to extend the interaction length with the sample and as a spectral filter, alleviating the need for dispersive elements or an interferometer. In this demonstration, a free running interband cascade laser was used to generate a comb centered at 3.

Background: Cardiovascular disease (CVD) morbidity and mortality is increasing in Africa, largely due to undiagnosed and untreated hypertension. Approaches that leverage existing primary health systems could improve hypertension treatment and reduce CVD, but cost-effectiveness is unknown. We evaluated the cost-effectiveness of population-level hypertension screening and implementation of chronic care clinics across eastern, southern, central, and western Africa.

Objective: To clarify the screening behavior and influencing factors of females with breast cancer and cervical cancer in suburban areas and to provide a scientific basis for the subsequent implementation of targeted health education, intervention measures and the formulation of relevant policies.

Methods: This study used a multi-stage stratified random sampling method to select 4, 000 women in urban and rural areas of Beijing to analyze their behavior, basic situation, and influencing factors regarding cervical and breast cancer screening.

Results: The sample size of the final included valid analysis was 3861 people, and the screening rate was 27.

Vistla: identifying influence paths with information theory.

Bioinformatics

January 2025

Interdisciplinary Centre for Mathematical and Computational Modelling, University of Warsaw, Warsaw, 02-106, Poland.

Motivation: It is a challenging task to decipher the mechanisms of a complex system from observational data; especially in biology, where systems are sophisticated, measurements coarse and multi-modality is a common trait. The typical approaches of inferring a network of relationships between system's components struggle with the quality and feasibility of estimation, as well as with the interpretability of the results they yield.Said issues can be avoided, however, when dealing with a simpler problem of tracking only the influence paths, defined as circuits relying the information of an experimental perturbation as it spreads through the system.
