This paper proposes a new way for ultrasound color flow velocity estimation and display. This method sets up a mapping table which directly relates to the dynamic range of the velocity display by using an inverse mapping instead of calculating the arctangent value directly. This method is ideal for software implementation and offers an interactive way to user for changing the dynamic range of flow velocity to increase the display resolution.

Purpose: This study aimed to investigate the effects of extraocular muscle recession performed as part of strabismus surgery on posterior retinal and choroidal blood flow.

Methods: A single-center prospective study was conducted on patients who underwent strabismus surgery. Optical coherence tomography, optical coherence tomography angiography, and laser speckle flowgraphy of the macula were performed before surgery and at one week, one month, and four months after surgery.

The interaction between integrin αβ and fibronectin enables tumor cell adherence to endothelial layers under diverse hydrodynamic blood flow conditions, particularly in low shear stress regions. Understanding the mechanical binding characteristics between integrin αβ and fibronectin under different hydrodynamic environments can provide insights into tumor cell invasion and proliferation. Here, the adhesive behavior of fibronectin-functionalized microspheres on integrin αβ-coated substrates under various wall fluid shear forces (0.

The main etiology of sudden sensorineural hearing loss (SSNHL) is uncertain and vascular problems have been proposed as one of the underlying factors in this disease. Patients with SSNHL and people without any hearing or ear disorders as the control group were included in the study (aged 18-65 years). Clinical examination, pure tone audiometry, and color doppler ultrasound of the neck vessels were performed for all patients and control subjects, on both sides, to check blood flow, peak systolic velocity (PSV), vascular diameter, and intima-media thickness (IMT) in the common carotid (CCA), vertebral (VA), and internal carotid arteries (ICA).

For migratory species, successful navigation is critical to fitness. In Atlantic salmon, for example, there is evidence that during migration from natal streams to the sea, passage through waters with poorly defined or mixed water velocity patterns may constrain directional navigation, causing individuals to become trapped or delayed in lakes or other bodies with slowly flowing water. In this study, we determined the minimum water velocities needed to elicit a behavioural response, in this case a change in the direction of holding position, in both wild origin and domesticated salmon smolts.
