An in-depth understanding of carbon dynamics and ecosystem productivity is essential for conservation and management of different ecosystems. Ecosystem dynamics and carbon budget are assessed by estimating net ecosystem production (NEP) across different global ecosystems. An ecological productivity assessment of forest and floating meadow ecosystems in Keibul Lamjao National Park (KLNP), Manipur, North East India, was conducted using the multi-criteria decision-making process namely, gray relational analysis (GRA).

To address the difficulty in detecting workers' violation behaviors in electric power construction scenarios, this paper proposes an innovative method that integrates knowledge reasoning and progressive multi-level distillation techniques. First, standards, norms, and guidelines in the field of electric power construction are collected to build a comprehensive knowledge graph, aiming to provide accurate knowledge representation and normative analysis. Then, the knowledge graph is combined with the object-detection model in the form of triplets, where detected objects and their interactions are represented as subject-predicate-object relationship.

Clustering-Based Thermography for Detecting Multiple Substances Under Large-Scale Floating Covers.

Sensors (Basel)

December 2024

Department of Mechanical & Aerospace Engineering, Monash University, Clayton, VIC 3800, Australia.

This study presents a novel approach for monitoring waste substrate digestion under high-density polyethylene (HDPE) geomembranes in sewage treatment plants. The method integrates infrared thermal imaging with a clustering algorithm to predict the distribution of various substrates beneath Traditional outdoor large-scale opaque geomembranes, using solar radiation as an excitation source. The technique leverages ambient weather conditions to assess the thermal responses of HDPE covers.

Assessment of the effect of management activities like a drought salinity barrier and herbicide treatments on the spread of submersed and floating aquatic estuary macrophytes.

Sci Total Environ

January 2025

Center for Spatial Technologies and Remote Sensing (CSTARS), Institute of the Environment, University of California, One Shields Avenue, Davis, CA 95616, USA. Electronic address:

Estuaries are complex ecosystems, being difficult to determine the way management actions affect them. This study quantitatively evaluated the spread of invasive submerged and floating aquatic macrophyte vegetation in Franks Tract of the Sacramento-San Joaquin Delta in response to two types of management actions, drought salinity barriers in years 2015, 2021 and 2022, and herbicide treatments in years 2004-2022. A Random Forest algorithm applied to airborne hyperspectral and satellite multispectral images generated maps of macrophyte cover in 2004-2022.
