Background: Chronic spontaneous urticaria (CSU) appears to share some pathomechanisms with metabolic syndrome (MS), such as proinflammatory state, increased oxidative stress, changes in adipokine profile, and coagulation system activation.
Aim And Objectives: To evaluate clinical and laboratory parameters of MS in CSU patients and to assess relationship of MS with duration and severity of CSU, Ig-E, thyroid-stimulating hormone (TSH), C-reactive protein (CRP), and autologous serum skin test (ASST).
Materials And Methods: A hospital-based cross-sectional study was conducted on 131 CSU cases and 131 controls who were age- and sex-matched.

The purpose of this manuscript is to report a rare case of pediatric central retinal artery occlusion (CRAO) in the setting of atypical hypercoagulable tests. An 11-year-old female presented to the emergency department with painless, visual changes in the left eye. Ophthalmological examination was remarkable for a central area of retinal ischemia and edema with sparing along the distribution of the cilioretinal artery along with a cherry red spot, all of which were consistent with a CRAO.

Introduction And Importance: True brachial artery aneurysms are rather uncommon, due to their number of etiological factors. Besides inducing symptoms such as hand or digit ischemia, they may present as pulsative tumefactions and cause pain or paresthesias through nerve impingement. The diagnosis is based on duplex ultrasonography, CTA in the operational planning phase, and a physical examination.

Spontaneous coronary artery dissection (SCAD) is a rare condition that frequently goes undiagnosed. Still, it is becoming an increasingly recognized cause of acute coronary syndrome (ACS), predominantly in middle-aged women with few or no cardiovascular risk factors. We present a case of a 53-year-old female with traditional cardiovascular risk factors, who presented with typical anginal symptoms and was diagnosed with SCAD in the mid to distal left anterior descending artery (LAD).

Rationale: Temporary central venous catheters are commonly used for patients who require emergency hemodialysis. In rare instances, this procedure can result in a very serious complication known as arteriovenous fistula (AVF). Although some cases of femoral arteriovenous fistula have been reported previously in the literature; however, the incidence of iliac AVF precipitated by a hemodialysis catheter is exceedingly uncommon.
