A method is presented for detecting minimally sized microcalcifications on ma mammograms to add extra security to the radiologist's classification. The method imitates the normal procedure followed by the specialist, and is easily implemented on low-cost PCs. As input, it accepts the usual digital mammograms. Tested against one of the most extensive databases - the DDSM of the University of South Florida - it gave a 100% success rate. For any suspicious regions (the so-called regions-of-interest or ROI) a separate image of suitable size is generated and displayed. The system also allows feature vectors to be generated for use in an automatic classifying system - such as a neural network (NN) - to determine the malignancy of the ROIs that were detected.

Myofibroblastoma is a rare mesenchymal tumour known for its benign nature but complex diagnostic pathway. A woman in her 40s presented with a painless breast mass, initially reported as a fibroadenoma on ultrasound mammography and as a benign to borderline phyllodes tumour on fine needle aspiration cytology. Contrast-enhanced CT was reported as carcinoma of the breast with Breast Imaging and Reporting Data System (BIRADS)-6.

Women with extremely dense breasts are at a higher risk of breast cancer, and the sensitivity of mammography in this group is reduced due to the masking effect of overlapping tissue. This review examines supplemental screening methods to improve detection in this population, with a focus on MRI. Morphologic techniques offer limited benefits, digital breast tomosynthesis (DBT) shows inconsistent results, and ultrasound (US), while improving cancer detection rates (CDR), results in a higher rate of false positives.

Introduction: The following presentation explores the diagnostic potential of Contrast-Enhanced Mammography (CEM) in evaluating and managing Paget's Disease (PD) of the breast, particularly as an alternative or complementary tool to Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) in cases where MRI is contraindicated or inconclusive.
Clinical Cases: Two clinical cases of PD diagnosed at our Breast Imaging Division between January and May 2024 were analyzed using CEM. These cases involved imaging techniques, including Digital Mammography (DM), Breast Ultrasound (US), MRI and CEM, alongside histopathological confirmation through nipple-areolar complex (NAC) punch biopsies.

Purpose: Digital Breast Tomosynthesis (DBT) is an advanced mammography technique for which there are currently no internationally agreed methods and reference values for image quality assessment. The aim of this multicentre study was to evaluate a simple method to assess the technical image quality of reconstructed and synthetic 2D (SM) images of different models of DBT systems using commercially available phantoms.
Methods: The signal difference to noise ratio (SDNR) was chosen as an index of technical image quality and was evaluated for three commercial phantoms, Tomophan, Tormam and CIRS model 015, on 55 DBT systems (six vendors, nine models).
