This paper presents the declarative algebra and continuous query language for fetal monitoring system MONAKO. Actually, architecture of this system is centralized. Recording, analyzing and visualization of data are carried out in the central unit. The new system will enable more efficient use of available resources and the construction of distributed structure. Presented example enables to define query based on data streams that makes the updated answers currently available.

Article Synopsis
  • Research on verbal declarative memory (VDM) aims to understand the genetic factors that influence memory decline and dementia in older adults to develop potential interventions.
  • The study analyzed data from over 29,000 older, non-demented Europeans to explore relationships between genetic variants, gene expression, and brain tissues, finding significant associations across various pathways.
  • Results indicated that genetic variations linked to VDM are regulated by genes, transcription factors, and immune-related pathways, highlighting their importance in cognitive performance among older individuals.

We will present the latest developments in CutLang, the runtime interpreter of a recently-developed analysis description language (ADL) for collider data analysis. ADL is a domain-specific, declarative language that describes the contents of an analysis in a standard and unambiguous way, independent of any computing framework. In ADL, analyses are written in human-readable plain text files, separating object, variable and event selection definitions in blocks, with a syntax that includes mathematical and logical operations, comparison and optimisation operators, reducers, four-vector algebra and commonly used functions.

We demonstrate that the key components of cognitive architectures (declarative and procedural memory) and their key capabilities (learning, memory retrieval, probability judgment, and utility estimation) can be implemented as algebraic operations on vectors and tensors in a high-dimensional space using a distributional semantics model. High-dimensional vector spaces underlie the success of modern machine learning techniques based on deep learning. However, while neural networks have an impressive ability to process data to find patterns, they do not typically model high-level cognition, and it is often unclear how they work.

Typically, component-oriented acausal hybrid modeling of complex dynamic systems is implemented by specialized modeling languages. A well-known example is the Modelica language. The specialized nature, complexity of implementation and learning of such languages somewhat limits their development and wide use by developers who know only general-purpose languages.

Prospects for Declarative Mathematical Modeling of Complex Biological Systems.

Department of Computer Science, University of California, Irvine, CA, 92697, USA.

Declarative modeling uses symbolic expressions to represent models. With such expressions, one can formalize high-level mathematical computations on models that would be difficult or impossible to perform directly on a lower-level simulation program, in a general-purpose programming language. Examples of such computations on models include model analysis, relatively general-purpose model reduction maps, and the initial phases of model implementation, all of which should preserve or approximate the mathematical semantics of a complex biological model.
