Assembly and functional mechanisms of plant NLR resistosomes.

Curr Opin Struct Biol

Nucleotide-binding and leucine-rich repeat (NLR) proteins are essential intracellular immune receptors in both animal and plant kingdoms. Sensing of pathogen-derived signals induces oligomerization of NLR proteins, culminating in the formation of higher-order protein complexes known as resistosomes in plants. The NLR resistosomes play a pivotal role in mediating the plant immune response against invading pathogens.

Epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) plays an important role in the regulation of cell proliferation and migration [1]. It forms a homodimer or heterodimer with other ErbB receptor family members to activate downstream signaling. Emerging evidence indicates that the EGFR activity and downstream signaling are regulated by other proteins except its family members during tumorigenesis.

Colorimetric Xylenol Orange: A Long-Buried Aggregation-Induced Emission Dye and Restricted Rotation for Dual-Mode Sensing of pH and Metal Ions.

As the third largest class of dyes in the world, triphenylmethane dyes are widely applied in colorimetric sensing. However, triphenylmethane dyes are commonly nonfluorescent, which limits their sensing applications. It is worthwhile to study the fluorescence off/on control of triphenylmethane dyes and promote the applications of triphenylmethane dyes in sensing technology.

Background And Aims: Alcohol-related liver disease (ALD) is one of the leading causes of severe liver disease with limited pharmacological treatments for alcohol-related steatohepatitis (ASH). CD44, a glycoprotein mainly expressed in immune cells, has been implicated in multiple inflammatory diseases but has never been studied in the ALD context. We therefore studied its contribution to ASH development in mice and its expression in ALD patients.
