Article Abstract

Complex [Au(C6F5)2][Bi(C6H4CH2NMe(2)-2)2] displays the first example of an interaction between Au(I) and Bi(III), the nature of which is shown to be consistent with the presence of a high ionic contribution (79%) and a dispersion type (van der Waals) interaction (21%).

ConspectusA key challenge in modern chemistry research is to mimic life-like functions using simple molecular networks and the integration of such networks into the first functional artificial cell. Central to this endeavor is the development of signaling elements that can regulate the cell function in time and space by producing entities of code with specific information to induce downstream activity. Such artificial signaling motifs can emerge in nonequilibrium systems, exhibiting complex dynamic behavior like bistability, multistability, oscillations, and chaos.

Luminescent lanthanide compounds stand out for their distinctive characteristics including narrow emission bands, substantial Stokes shifts, high quantum yields, and unique luminescent colors. However, Ln is highly susceptible to vibrational quenching from X-H (X = O/N) high-energy oscillators in the embedded organic antenna, resulting in significant nonradiative energy dissipation of the D excited states of Ln. Herein, we introduce a strategy based on supramolecular interactions to modulate the nonradiative transitions in a new Zn-Tb heterometallic compound, [ZnTb(HL)(NO)Cl]·2CHCN·HO (), based on a phenyl-substituted pyrazolinone-modified salicylamide-imide ligand ().

The "food desert" problem has been treated under a national strategy in the United States and other countries. At present, there is little research on the phenomenon of "food desert" in China. This study takes Shanghai as the research area and proposes a multiscale analysis method using a linear tessellation model that splits the street network into homogeneous linear units.

Atomically precise nanoclusters (NCs) are promising building blocks for designing materials and interfaces with unique properties. By incorporating heteroatoms into the core, the electronic and magnetic properties of NCs can be precisely tuned. To accurately predict these properties, density functional theory (DFT) is often employed, making the rigorous benchmarking of DFT results particularly important.

Developing superionic conductor (SIC) materials offers a promising pathway to achieving high ionic conductivity in solid-state electrolytes (SSEs). The LiGePS (LGPS) family has received significant attention due to its remarkable ionic conductivity among various SIC materials. molecular dynamics (AIMD) simulations have been extensively used to explore the diffusion behavior of Li ions in LiGePS.
