Microsatellite markers are cost-effective, rapid, efficient, and show great advantages in in large-sample kinship analysis and population structure studies. However, microsatellite loci are seriously underdeveloped in non-model organisms. The plateau zokor (Eospalax baileyi) is a key species living underground in the Tibetan Plateau, the effective management of which has long been challenging.

The selection of unique and individual-specific SNPs is important as compared with universal SNPs for individual identification. Therefore, the main significance of this research is the selection of specific SNPs in male parent and the identification of offspring with these specific SNPs in their genome by multiplex PCR, which is utilized for genotyping of 332 half-sib plants of .This cost-effective method makes as much as possible to utilize the same amount of each pair of various targeted loci primers.

A reliable pedigree serves as the backbone of genetic evolution in domesticated animals, providing guidance for daily management and breeding strategies. However, in commercial chicken breeding, pedigree errors and omissions are common. The large-scale application of genomic selection provides an opportunity to reconstruct chicken pedigrees using SNP markers.
