Hidden infections and late diagnoses are currently the main challenges of the HIV pandemic. Emergency departments (EDs) are one of the health care system's key resources addressing these challenges. In 2020, the Spanish Society of Emergency Medicine (SEMES) published recommendations for ordering HIV serology testing for patients with certain health conditions, and in 2021 SEMES launched the "Leave Your Mark" (Deja tu Huella - DTH) program to facilitate implementing the recommendations during emergency care.

The Indigenous Health Conferences (IHC) have been the political spaces for expressing and consolidating ideas and proposals. However, in 1993, the "First Indigenous Health Forum" was held a few months before the second IHC. With a historical approach, this paper aimed to understand the organization and impacts of this Forum in the construction of Brazilian Indigenous Health policies during the 1990s.

Studies of acute and post-acute COVID-19, including their biology, prevention, and treatment, were presented at the 2024 Conference on Retroviruses and Opportunistic Infections. Numerous studies reported on the impact of hybrid immunity (ie, from a combination of prior infection and vaccination) on the natural history, pathogenesis, and outcomes of infection with modern SARS-CoV-2 variants. Several studies demonstrated the continued benefit of SARS-CoV-2 vaccination and the effect of treatment, particularly in the setting of severe disease.

Purpose: This study evaluates the Social Return on Investment (SROI) of implementing measures to prevent fragility fractures in postmenopausal women with osteoporosis (OP) in Spain.

Methods: A group of 13 stakeholders identified necessary actions for improving refracture prevention and assessed the investment required from the Spanish National Health System (SNHS), considering direct, indirect, and intangible costs over a one-year period. Unitary costs were sourced from scientific literature and official data, and intangible costs were estimated through surveys on women's willingness to pay for better health-related quality of life.
