Purpose: To evaluate the diagnostic value of different subtypes of non-punctate echogenic foci in thyroid malignancy.

Methods: Retrospective research of 342 thyroid nodules with calcification was performed. The echogenic foci were divided into punctate echogenic foci (type I) and non-punctate echogenic foci (type II), and type II were further divided into four subtypes: macrocalcification (type IIa), continuous peripheral calcification (type IIb), discontinuous peripheral calcification (type IIc) and isolated calcification (type IId).

Background: Supera interwoven nitinol stents (IWNS) and Eluvia fluoropolymer-based drug-eluting stents (DES) were designed to improve the patency of the femoropopliteal (FP) artery; however, which type of stent yields superior outcomes in calcified FP lesions remains unclear.

Aims: To compare the safety and efficacy of Supera IWNS and Eluvia DES in severely calcified FP lesions.

Methods: This study retrospectively analyzed 257 consecutive patients who underwent endovascular therapy using either IWNS (n = 123) or DES (n = 134) for FP lesions with peripheral arterial calcium scoring system (PACSS) grade 3 or 4 severe calcification between April 2018 and December 2021 at eight cardiovascular centers in Japan.

Background: Cysticercosis, a parasitic infection caused by the larval stages of the pork tapeworm, Taenia solium, predominantly affects cerebral and ocular tissues. The subcutaneous manifestation of this disease is a relatively uncommon clinical occurrence. Previously very few or no cases of cysticercosis presenting as subcutaneous solitary painful swelling have been reported in the literature.

Objectives: Endovascular therapy (EVT) for calcified nodules in patients with peripheral artery disease (PAD) remains challenging in achieving favorable outcomes. This study aims to investigate the effectiveness of orbital atherectomy (OA) for calcified nodules using an IM catheter to precisely control the device and achieve optimal engagement with the target lesion.

Methods: We performed EVT for a calcified nodule in the right common femoral artery using an OA.

Background: Endovascular therapy is an effective method for revascularization in lower extremity artery disease, but treating chronic total occlusion (CTO) remains challenging. This is particularly true for patients with severe calcification, poor run-off in below-the-knee arteries, or limited access sites, where even guidewire (GW) passage can be difficult and bidirectional approaches are often not feasible. The tip-detection (TD) method has been reported as a useful technique in coronary artery CTO interventions, allowing real-time visualization of the GW tip direction.
