Purpose: In this article, the question of whether adjuvant hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBO) has a positive effect when treating chronically recurrent mandibular osteomyelitis in children and adolescents is discussed.
Patients And Methods: Over a period of 5 years, 4 cases were observed, 3 of which were submitted to adjuvant HBO. Details on the modalities of this type of treatment and the simultaneous intravenous administration of high doses of antibiotics are reported.
Results: All 3 patients have been free of any symptoms from 20 to 74 months (mean, 41 months) and therefore may most likely be regarded as healed.
Conclusion: The small number of cases does not allow a final statement on the extent to which HBO contributed to the positive outcome. However, in our opinion, HBO is a most promising therapeutic option. Finally, the problems involved in prospective randomized studies of this rare disease are discussed in detail.

Diabetic foot ulcer (DFU) is a common complication of chronic diabetes mellitus. Oxygen plays a critical role in the healing process of DFU wounds by promoting cell migration and neovascularization. However, clinical hyperbaric oxygen (HBO) therapy predominantly uses systemic oxygen administration, posing challenges in inadequate DFU local oxygen penetration and potential ectopic organs oxygen toxicity.

Background: Congenital insensitivity to pain with anhidrosis is a rare but devastating hereditary disease. Congenital insensitivity to pain with anhidrosis is caused by a mutation in the neurotrophic receptor tyrosine kinase 1 gene (NRTK1). The condition is characterized by multiple injuries, recurrent infections, and mental retardation.

Objective: In this study, the research team aimed to explore the therapeutic effectiveness of hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBOT) for noise-induced hearing loss (NIHL), its influence on patient prognosis, and its impact on hearing to provide valuable clinical evidence.
Methods: Ninety-four patients with NIHL admitted to The First People's Hospital of Changde City, Hunan, China, from May 2021 to January 2023 were selected for this retrospective analysis. Among them, 43 were given conventional treatment (control group) and 51 were given HBOT (observation group).

Background: Hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBOT) is a treatment in which oxygen-enriched air (up to 100%) is administered to patients in a chamber at a pressure above one atmosphere absolute and is approved for the treatment of T2D ischemic wounds. Type 2 diabetes (T2D) is a risk factor for dementia. Ischemia due to vascular pathology is hypothesized to be an underlying mechanism for this association.

Effective therapies for cognitive impairments induced by brain irradiation are currently lacking. This study investigated the therapeutic potential of hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBOT) for radiation-induced brain injury in a randomized controlled experimental model using adult male Wistar rats. Adult male Wistar rats were divided into four experimental groups: 0 Gy whole brain radiotherapy (WBRT) with normal baric air (NBA) treatment, 0 Gy WBRT with HBOT, 10 Gy WBRT with NBA, and 10 Gy WBRT with HBOT.
