Aim: Microchimerism following canine in utero hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (IUHSCT) development of T-cell dosing regimens.
Objective: To investigate the use of anti-T-cell antibodies for cell dosing of the donor graft in a canine model of IUHSCT.
Study Design: Canine IUHSCT was performed by ultrasound-guided intraperitoneal injection in days 35-38 of fetal canines with CD34(+) cells at doses of 4.5 x 10(8) to 1.3 x 10(9) cells/kg and T cells (CD3(+) CD5(+)) at doses of 8 x 10(6) to 8.8 x 10(8) cells/kg. Postnatal studies included tissue histology and polymerase chain reaction-based chimerism analysis.
Results: Term survival was 86-100%. Microchimerism (0-2%) was detected in five of eight recipients in multiple tissues. Histopathology revealed no evidence of graft-versus-host disease (GVHD).
Conclusion: Canine IUHSCT is a useful model to investigate the role of donor T cells in engraftment and GVHD. IUHSCT at early gestational ages with high doses of donor T cells in the graft yields microchimerism in multiple tissues without GVHD.

Micro-osteoperforations and corticotomies are two surgical techniques commonly used to increase the rate of tooth movement. The aim of this systematic review was to respond to the question: Which method used for accelerating orthodontic tooth movement, micro-osteoperforations or alveolar corticotomy, produces a higher rate of tooth movement and present less adverse effects? Searches were performed in the electronic databases of PubMed, Scopus, Cochrane CENTRAL, Web of Science, Lilacs and Science Direct, as well as grey literature (Opengrey), up to March 2024. All the included studies were controlled, randomized clinical trials, cohort, case-control, cross-sectional, and multicentre studies of patients treated with orthodontics and corticotomies or micro-osteoperforations.

Local health departments can play a critical role in zoonoses surveillance at the human-domestic animal interface, especially when existing public health services and close relationships with community groups can be leveraged. Investigators at Harris County Veterinary Public Health employed a community-based surveillance tool for identifying severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) infections in dogs and cats in June--December 2021. Diagnosis was made using both RT-qPCR testing of oral and nasal swabs and plaque reduction neutralization testing of serum samples.

Introduction: Intestinal lymphoma may be latent in some dogs with chronic inflammatory enteropathy. Mesenchymal stromal cells (MSCs) have potential therapeutic applications for refractory chronic inflammatory enteropathy, but their impact on the development of potential intestinal lymphomas has not yet been evaluated. Therefore, this study was performed to investigate the effect of canine adipose-derived MSCs (cADSCs) on the growth of canine lymphoma cell lines to assess the safety of MSC-based therapy in terms of pro- and anti-tumorigenic effects.

Objectives: To identify if chemotherapeutic drugs in the CHOP-based protocol led to an increase in renal parameters in dogs with lymphoma during therapy and investigate whether factors such as prednisolone use or age affected this result.
Methods: Data were obtained retrospectively from private referral practice records of dogs diagnosed with lymphoma receiving a CHOP-based chemotherapy protocol between 2015 and 2019. Dogs included received a CHOP-based protocol as their first treatment, received four full cycles and were in remission at the end of the protocol.

The objective of this study was to tailor an osteoinductive scaffold for alveolar bone regeneration and around immediately placed implants in extraction sockets of dogs. Tailored amorphous multiporous bioactive glass (TAMP -BG) was prepared and characterized for bioactivity and response of human alveolar bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells (hABMSCs). Extraction sockets of twenty-two male mongrel dogs received TAMP-BG in the right side around implant in the distal socket of the mandibular fourth premolar (P4), while the adjacent empty mesial socket of the same tooth was filled with the same graft.
