Purpose: When serious illness occurs, effective communication is essential but challenged by language barriers. This study explores how patients with limited Danish proficiency and their families experience language barriers during cancer care in two Danish public hospitals.
Method: Adopting a phenomenological-hermeneutic approach, the study stresses narratives in understanding participants' lived experiences.

Lichen planus (LP) is a chronic inflammatory disease that can present with significant morbidity, particularly in children. Erosive lichen planus (ELP), its rare destructive subtype, can be particularly difficult to diagnose and manage. We present a rare pediatric case of ELP with multisite involvement and discuss the differential diagnosis.

We present the case of a 51-year-old man with Von Hippel-Lindau disease and a history of renal transplantation who developed a persistent, painful tongue lesion with episodes of significant swelling. Given his history of prolonged immunosuppression and elevated cancer risk, oral squamous cell carcinoma was a major concern. However, histopathological evaluation confirmed recrudescent herpes simplex virus (HSV) infection rather than malignancy.

Background: Oral ulcers are painful mucosal lesions prone to infection and inflammation. To evaluate the effectiveness of treatments, a suitable experimental animal model with an appropriate healing period is required.
