Currently, river landscape evaluations cannot be conducted by the general public, due to their lack of professional training. However, consulting professionals is time consuming and costly. The research conducted addresses both problems by (1) developing suitable criteria for assessing river environments, and (2) formulating a strategy for using the proposed criteria, thereby creating an effective method for river management by non-professionals. This research was carried out, in accordance with Visual Resource Management theory, at 12 survey sites along the ChungKang River. The landscape quality sequences acquired were then evaluated using a revised and simplified assessment model. The same process was repeated on the Touchien River to verify its feasibility. This research developed both specific criteria as well a method for evaluating river landscapes, which can be employed by non-professional river project managers. Ultimately, the aim of this research is to develop and promote sustainable river resource management.

Paleoradiology has become a standard diagnostic method in the study of mummified or embalmed bodies. Among the various available techniques, computed tomography valuing for its ability to provide detailed information. However, computed tomography equipment is not always accessible to research teams, cannot be easily transported to all conservation sites, and raises health concerns.

Freshwater ecosystems face significant threats, including pollution, habitat loss, invasive species, and climate change. To address these challenges, management strategies and restoration efforts have been broadly implemented. Across Europe, such efforts have resulted in overall improvements in freshwater biodiversity, but recovery has stalled or failed to occur in many localities, which may be partly caused by the limited dispersal capacity of many species.

Chimeric antigen receptor T-cell (CAR-T) therapy is a revolutionary approach in cancer treatment. More than 10 CAR-T products have already approved on market worldly wide, and they use either gamma retroviral vectors or lentiviral vectors to deliver the CAR gene. Both vectors have the ability to effectively and persistently integrate the CAR gene into T cells.

In order to explore the water and fertilizer requirements of eggplants in the western oasis of the river, the experiment was conducted in Minle County of Gansu Province in 2022 and 2023 under three water stress gradients and three nitrogen application levels: (1) moderate water stress (W, 50-60% in field water capacity [FC]), mild water stress (W, 60-70% in FC), and full irrigation (W, 70-80% in FC); (2) low nitrogen (N, 215 kg·ha), medium nitrogen (N, 270 kg·ha), and high nitrogen (N, 325 kg·ha). Moderate and mild water stress were applied during eggplant flowering and fruiting while full irrigation was provided during the other growth stages; a control class (CK) was established with full irrigation throughout the whole plant growth without nitrogen application. This study investigated the effects of water-saving and nitrogen reduction on the yield, quality, and water-nitrogen use efficiency of eggplants in a cold and arid environment in the Hexi Oasis irrigation area of China.

Study on the Influence of Rural Highway Landscape Green Vision Rate on Driving Load Based on Factor Analysis.

Sensors (Basel)

January 2025

School of Civil Engineering Architecture and the Environment, Hubei University of Technology, Wuhan 430068, China.

The green vision rate of rural highway greening landscape is a key factor affecting the driver's visual load. Based on this, this paper uses the eye tracking method to study the visual characteristics of drivers in different green vision environments on rural highways in Xianning County. Based on the HSV color space model, this paper obtains four sections of rural highway with a green vision rate of 10~20%, green vision rate of 20~30%, green vision rate of 30~40%, and green vision rate of 40~50%.
