The insecticidal activities of imidacloprid derivatives with a wide range of substituents at the 5-position on the pyridine ring against American cockroaches, Periplaneta americana (L.), were measured by injection with and without synergists propyl 2-propynyl phenylphosphonate and piperonyl butoxide. The log(1/MLD) value (MLD = minimal lethal dose in mol) without synergists was 7.96 for the methyl derivative, and the values were lower for other derivatives. Synergists enhanced the potencies of all the compounds tested. Considering these compounds and those with other substituents at this position, the region for maximum activity was predicted to be in the conjunction of the pyridyl 6-chlorine atom with a lipophilic small group in the 5-position.

Various new tris(pyrazolyl)alkanes of the class R'CTp (R' = Me, Et, Pr, iBu; R = Et, Pr, Cy, BuPh, Ph; Pr = cyclopropyl, Cy = cyclohexyl, BuPh = -butylphenyl) were synthesised and their reactivity towards Mg(AlMe) was examined. The storage of renewable energy through the conversion of CO to CO provides a viable solution for the intermittent nature of these energy sources. The immobilization of rhenium(I) tricarbonyl molecular complexes is presented through the reductive coupling of bis(diazonium) aryl substituents. The aggregation-caused quenching (ACQ) rationale has been employed to improve the fluorescence imaging accuracy of nanocarriers by precluding free probe-derived interferences. However, its usefulness is undermined by limited penetration and low spatiotemporal resolution of NIR-I (700-900 nm) bioimaging owing to absorption and diffraction by biological tissues and tissue-derived autofluorescence. This study aimed to develop ACQ-based NIR-II (1000-1700 nm) probes to further improve the imaging resolution and accuracy.
