The relative frequency of poor readers in Dutch general elementary education (GEE) and special elementary education (SEE) and the characteristics of their reading performance were investigated using a lexical decision procedure. According to the same norms that identified 9% of students as poor readers in GEE, no less than 73% of the students in SEE were classified as poor readers. On average, the GEE poor readers were better readers than those in SEE, but the findings do not point to substantial differences in reading processes between the two reader groups. Hypotheses about the nature of the referral process that may cause this surprisingly strong relation between poor reading ability and SEE placement are advanced.

Aims: Chemoresistance results in poor outcomes of patients with gastric cancer (GC). This study aims to identify oxaliplatin resistance-related cell subpopulations in the tumor microenvironment (TME) and decipher the involved molecular mechanisms.
Methods: Through single-cell RNA sequencing, a unique ONECUT2TFPI GC cell subset was identified in the oxaliplatin-resistant TME.
Background: Angioimmunoblastic T-cell lymphoma (AITL) is a distinct subtype of peripheral T-cell lymphoma (PTCL) and accounts for 2% of all non-Hodgkin lymphomas. Its typical characteristics include an aggressive course, progressive lymphadenopathy, hepatosplenomegaly, systemic symptoms, anemia, hypergammaglobulinemia, and generally poor prognosis.
Methods: We describe a rare case in which the left inguinal lymph node was completely excised and biopsied one year ago.

Radiotherapy is one of the main treatment modalities for advanced hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). Ferroptosis has been shown to promote the radiosensitivity of HCC cells, but it remains unclear whether epigenetic regulations function in this process. In this study, we found that the overexpression of METTL3 was associated with poor prognosis.

Purpose: To assess the incidence of pelvic insufficiency fractures (PIFs) after concurrent chemoradiotherapy (CCRT) in patients with locally advanced cervical cancer (LACC), their time of onset and risk factors. We also analysed the inter-observer agreement between gynaecologic radiologists (GYN readers) and radiologists expert in musculoskeletal imaging (MSK reader) in detecting PIFs in our tertiary care centre.
Methods: Patients with confirmed LACC who underwent concurrent chemoradiation (CCRT) at our institution from June 2019 to November 2022 were retrospectively included.

Purpose: To reveal problems of magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) for diagnosing gastric-type mucin-positive (GMPLs) and gastric-type mucin-negative (GMNLs) cervical lesions.
Methods: We selected 172 patients suspected to have lobular endocervical glandular hyperplasia; their pelvic MR images were categorised into the training (n = 132) and validation (n = 40) groups. The images of the validation group were read twice by three pairs of six readers to reveal the accuracy, area under the curve (AUC), and intraclass correlation coefficient (ICC).
