The paper describes a method for measuring a relative volume of lipid incorporations into yeast Candida guilliermondii cultivated on hydrocarbons. A relative volume of the incorporations (mean ratio of the volume of lipid incorporations to the cell volume expressed as percentage) as compared with the hydrocarbon content in the cells expressed as percentage of the yeast dry weight is given for each yeast sample. A direct correlation between the hydrocarbon content and relative volume of lipid incorporations has been demonstrated. The distribution of lipid incorporations in yeast populations with a different content of hydrocarbons has been studied statistically.
