[Acquired ichthyosis revealing hepatic and lymph node tuberculosis].

Introduction: Acquired ichthyosis is an uncommon disease usually associated with different systemic diseases. Its characteristic clinical sign is symmetrical scaling of the skin. We report a case of acquired ichthyosis revealing hepatic and lymph node tuberculosis.

Case: A 41-year-old man was admitted to our hospital with weight loss and generalized acquired ichthyosis. Ultrasonography and computer tomography showed enlargement of abdominal lymph nodes. Lymph node and liver biopsy samples were taken during exploratory laparotomy and revealed multiple lymphoepitheliomas with Langhans-type giant cells and central caseous necrosis. The skin lesions resolved progressively after 5 months of antituberculous therapy.

Discussion: Ichthyosis occurring in adulthood is often a sign of internal disease, especially malignant conditions. It has also been associated with autoimmune and infectious diseases, sarcoidosis and drugs. It is only rarely reported among patients with tuberculosis but it is possible that the ichthyosis in this case was due to weight loss and deterioration of the patient's general condition.

Department of Oral Diagnosis, Piracicaba Dental School University of Campinas, 901, Limeira Avenue Postcode: 13414-903. Piracicaba-SP, Brazil

Background: Oral squamous cell carcinoma (OSCC) is an aggressive cancer, with prognosis influenced by clinical variables as well grading systems and perineural invasion (PNI), which are associated to poorer outcomes, including higher rates of recurrence and metastasis. This study aims to evaluate OSCC using three grading systems and assess the impact of PNI and clinicopathologic parameters on patient survival.

Material And Methods: Eighty-one primary OSCC samples were analyzed.

Introduction: The core objective of this study was to precisely locate metastatic lymph nodes, identify potential areas in nasopharyngeal carcinoma patients that may not require radiotherapy, and propose a hypothesis for reduced target volume radiotherapy on the basis of these findings. Ultimately, we reassessed the differences in dosimetry of organs at risk (OARs) between reduced target volume (reduced CTV2) radiotherapy and standard radiotherapy.

Methods And Materials: A total of 209 patients participated in the study.

Massive endobronchial hemorrhage leading to Cardiac arrest during EBUS-TBNA: a case of successful resuscitation.

Department of Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine, School of Medicine, Zhongshan Hospital of Xiamen University, Xiamen University, Xiamen, Fujian, China.

Introduction: Endobronchial ultrasound-guided transbronchial needle aspiration (EBUS-TBNA) is commonly used for diagnosing mediastinal lymphadenopathy. Despite a low complication rate, severe hemorrhage can occur which is reported in this literature, particularly in hypervascular conditions like Castleman disease.

Methods: A 54-year-old male with idiopathic multicentric Castleman disease underwent EBUS-TBNA for mediastinal lymph node sampling.

Background: Mycobacterium avium complex (MAC) is a common pathogen causing non-tuberculous mycobacterial infections, primarily affecting the lungs. Disseminated MAC disease occurs mainly in immunocompromised individuals, such as those with acquired immunodeficiency syndrome, hematological malignancies, or those positive for anti-interferon-γ antibodies. However, its occurrence in solid organ transplant recipients is uncommon.
