We search for excited and exotic muon states mu* using an integrated luminosity of 371 pb(-1) of p[over]p collision data at sqrt[s]=1.96 TeV. We search for associated production of mumu* followed by the decay mu*-->mugamma. We compare the data to model predictions as a function of the mass of the excited muon M(mu*), the compositeness energy scale Lambda, and the gauge coupling factor f. No signal above the standard model expectation is observed. We exclude 107

GABA receptors mediate prolonged inhibition in the brain and are important for keeping neuronal excitation and inhibition in a healthy balance. However, under excitotoxic/ischemic conditions, GABA receptors are downregulated by dysregulated endocytic trafficking and can no longer counteract the severely enhanced excitation, eventually triggering neuronal death. Recently, we developed interfering peptides targeting protein-protein interactions involved in downregulating the receptors.

Neuropathic pain (NP) is a chronic condition caused by abnormal neuronal excitability in the nervous system. Current treatments for NP are often ineffective or poorly tolerated. Hence, we reviewed the efficacy and safety of novel drugs or devices that target neuronal excitability in NP patients compared with placebo, sham, or usual care interventions.

While searching for a new host suitable for near infrared (NIR) emission, we explored a new composition NaLaMgWO. The samples were prepared by solid state reaction method. X-ray Diffraction confirms crystallization of NaLaMgWO in monoclinic system.

Notably, the Maximally INFormative LUminescence eXcitation (MINFLUX) method achieves super-resolution by shaping the excitation point spread function (PSF) to minimize the required photon flux for a given precision. Various beam shapes have recently been proposed to improve localization efficiency, yet their optimality remains an open question.

Solid-state detectors with a low energy threshold have several applications, including searches of non-relativistic halo dark-matter particles with sub-GeV masses. When searching for relativistic, beyond-the-Standard-Model particles with enhanced cross sections for small energy transfers, a small detector with a low energy threshold may have better sensitivity than a larger detector with a higher energy threshold. In this paper, we calculate the low-energy ionization spectrum from high-velocity particles scattering in a dielectric material.
