A droplet bouncing on a vertically vibrated bath can become coupled to the surface wave it generates. It thus becomes a "walker" moving at constant velocity on the interface. Here the motion of these walkers is investigated when they pass through one or two slits limiting the transverse extent of their wave. In both cases a given single walker seems randomly scattered. However, diffraction or interference patterns are recovered in the histogram of the deviations of many successive walkers. The similarities and differences of these results with those obtained with single particles at the quantum scale are discussed.

Sensing light's polarization and wavefront direction enables surface curvature assessment, material identification, shadow differentiation, and improved image quality in turbid environments. Traditional polarization cameras utilize multiple sensor measurements per pixel and polarization-filtering optics, which result in reduced image resolution. We propose a nanophotonic pipeline that enables compressive sensing and reduces the sampling requirements with a low-refractive-index, self-assembled optical encoder.

In this Letter, we present a novel, to the best of our knowledge, approach for recovering objects directly from the Fraunhofer diffraction integral, where the diffraction field of an object is approximated by the Fourier transform of this object augmented by an additional phase factor. This phase factor at the observation plane is universal for the diffraction fields generated by objects located at the same plane and illuminated by the same monochromatic plane wave. It can be first extracted from dividing the Fraunhofer diffraction field by the Fourier transform of an object reference.

Single-shot ptychography is a quantitative phase imaging method wherein overlapping beams of light arranged in a grid pattern simultaneously illuminate a sample, allowing a full ptychographic dataset to be collected in a single shot. It is primarily used at optical wavelengths, but there is interest in using it for x-ray imaging. However, constraints imposed by x-ray optics have limited the resolution achievable to date.

Phosphoproteins maintain the normal metabolic activity of the organisms. Direct phosphopeptides detection is difficult to be realized by mass spectroscopy (MS) due to the low ionization efficiency, low abundance of phosphopeptides and interferences of complicated biological fluids. In the present work, a magnetic composite material was prepared by combining polyethyleneimine (PEI) and fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC) focusing on phosphopeptides enrichment.

This study is to produce biogenic silver nanoparticles (AgNPs) by utilizing aqueous extracts derived from Turnera Sublata (TS) leaves under visible light. Subsequently, these nanoparticles are coated with eosin-yellow (EY) to enhance sensitivity and selectivity in L-3,4-dihydroxyphenylalanine (L-dopa) detection. This method encompasses the deposition of metal onto the Ag NPs, resulting in the formation of EY-AgNPs.
