We investigate different states of synchronization in a ring of four mutually coupled van der Pol oscillators. The stability analysis and numerical simulation are performed to determine the suitable coupling parameters leading to high-quality synchronization. The consequences of parameter mismatch are also highlighted. Experimental realization is then used to show the existence of complete and partial synchronization.

This study introduces a novel synchronous spectrofluorimetry coupled with chemometric tools for the determination of tenofovir and dolutegravir antiretroviral drugs. Utilizing partial least squares regression (PLS) fine-tuned by genetic algorithm as variable selection tool, the developed models demonstrate greater sensitivity, cost-effectiveness, and reduced environmental impact compared to traditional HPLC methods. The model's validation was further confirmed using external validation in addition to QC samples as per ICH M10 guidelines, which yielded high accuracy ranged between 94.

An Ott-Antonsen reduced M-population of Kuramoto-Sakaguchi oscillators is investigated, focusing on the influence of the phase-lag parameter α on the collective dynamics. For oscillator populations coupled on a ring, we obtained a wide variety of spatiotemporal patterns, including coherent states, traveling waves, partially synchronized states, modulated states, and incoherent states. Back-and-forth transitions between these states are found, which suggest metastability.

The core advantage of metalenses over traditional bulky lenses lies in their thin volume and lightweight. Nevertheless, as the application scenarios of metalenses extend to the macro-scale optical imaging field, a contradiction arises between the increasing demand for large-aperture metalenses and the synchronous rise in design and processing costs. In response to the application requirements of metalens with diameter reaching the order of 10λ or even 10λ, this paper proposes a novel design method for fixed-height concentric-ring metalenses, wherein, under the constraints of the processing technology, a subwavelength 2D building unit library is constructed based on different topological structures, and the overall cross-section of the metalens is assembled.

Background: The loss of finger control in individuals with neuromuscular disorders significantly impacts their quality of life. Electroencephalography (EEG)-based brain-computer interfaces that actuate neuroprostheses directly via decoded motor intentions can help restore lost finger mobility. However, the extent to which finger movements exhibit distinct and decodable EEG correlates remains unresolved.

High-performance polymers based on dynamic chemistry have been widely explored for multi-field advanced applications. However, noncovalent sacrificial bond-mediated energy dissipation mechanism causes a trade-off between mechanical toughness and resilience. Herein, we achieved the synchronous boost of seemingly conflicting material properties including mechanical robustness, toughness and elasticity via the incorporation of mechanical chemistry into traditional semi-crystalline networks.
