The glucose-6-phosphatase activity of microsomes and phosphorylative mitochondrial activity of liver cells, alanine- and aspartate aminotransferase activities in plasma of blood of young (3 month) and adult (21 month) male rats kept under three various diets resulting in a various degree of a growth inhibition and losses of weight of a body have been studied. There were selected diets giving to animals the food full-valued by composition but limited by quantity. Experiment proceeded 50 days. It was found out various metabolic strategy of adaptation in young and adult animals in reply to this influence. Experimentally this phenomenon revealed itself in various correlations between researched metabolic parameters at young and adult rats. Activity of researched enzymes in adult animals changed in a greater degree in comparison with a base level than at young ones. Researchers suppose that the revealed distinctions of metabolic strategy of adaptation in young and adult animals can be attributed to their generated epigenotypes.

Background: Sleep-wake patterns are important behavioral biomarkers for patients with serious mental illness (SMI), providing insight into their well-being. The gold standard for monitoring sleep is polysomnography (PSG), which requires a sleep lab facility; however, advances in wearable sensor technology allow for real-world sleep-wake monitoring.
Objective: The goal of this study was to develop a PSG-validated sleep algorithm using accelerometer (ACC) and electrocardiogram (ECG) data from a wearable patch to accurately quantify sleep in a real-world setting.

Long-term training enables professional athletes to develop concentrated and efficient neural network organizations for specific tasks. This study used functional near-infrared spectroscopy to investigate task performance, brain functional characteristics, and their relationships in footballers during sport-specific motor-cognitive processes. Twenty-four footballers (athlete group, with 18 remaining of good signal quality) and 20 non-footballers (control group, with 16 remaining) completed four tasks: a single task (trigger buttons corresponding to the appearance direction of teammates with kicking actions), an N-back direction task, a dual task, and an N-back digit task.

Binge eating (BE) is a highly pervasive maladaptive coping strategy in response to severe early life stress such as emotional and social neglect. BE is described as repeated episodes of uncontrolled eating and is tightly linked with comorbid mental health concerns. Despite social stressors occurring at a young age, the onset of BE typically does not occur until adulthood providing an interval for potential therapeutic intervention.
