The asthma diagnosis jigsaw puzzle is a clinical practice and teaching concept conceived in clinical practice and refined through an expert multidisciplinary consensus process by academics and clinicians with an interest in primary respiratory care. The concept incorporates guidance to facilitate the effective diagnosis of adults or children with asthma in primary care where misdiagnosis is common. The jigsaw puzzle metaphor teaches a problem-solving approach to diagnosis, introducing the concept of diagnosis over time and in no particular sequence.

We investigated the context role of family factors in obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD) by comparing observed parent-child interaction behaviors of OCD and non-clinical families during three parent-child discussion tasks. We examined whether behaviors differentiating groups would be consistent across all discussions, or present only during specific tasks. We also investigated the effect of family-based cognitive behavior therapy on parent-child interactions and aimed to identify interaction behaviors associated with OCD symptom change.

Background: Evidence suggests maternal birth experience impacts infant health. Alterations of the infant's hypothalamus-pituitary-adrenal (HPA) axis are discussed as one possible underlying mechanism. This study aimed to investigate both objective and subjective birth experience as potential predictors of offspring's hair glucocorticoid concentrations (GCs) and infant development, respectively.

Objective: Dental patient-reported outcomes (dPROs) are critical indicators of shared decision-making in oral healthcare. This study aimed to assess the frequency of use of dPROs and dPRO-related factors being used as predictors or predicted outcomes in clinical prediction models (CPMs) in oral health, and to identify variables associated with the use of dPROs and/or dPRO-related factors in CPMs.
Methods: A PubMed search was conducted on 17th May, 2024, to identify eligible studies.

Background: Discussing advance care planning (ACP) preferences for nasogastric tube (NG) insertion remains challenging among older adults. Multimedia decision-making aids have demonstrated potential to enhance understanding and support informed decision-making.
Aim: To evaluate the effectiveness of the EATING program (multimedia decision-making aids + traditional educational module) compared to usual care (traditional educational module alone) in improving ACP readiness on NG insertion for community older adults with chronic illness.
