Objective: Triple negative breast carcinoma (TNBC) is characterized by the absence of estrogen receptor, progesterone receptor and human epidermal growth factor receptor-2 receptor expression. Carbonic anhydrase IX (CA IX) is a tumor-associated cell surface glycoprotein that is involved in adaptation to hypoxia-induced acidosis and plays a role in cancer progression. The aim of this study was to investigate CA IX expression in TNBC and its relationship with treatment effect.

D-lactic acidosis is associated with fermentative disturbances and is often marked by elevated levels of D-lactic acid in the blood, ruminal fluid, and synovial fluid in cattle. D-lactic acidosis is linked to various inflammatory manifestations, and although the causative factors have been extensively explored, the exact pathogenesis of the associated inflammation remains elusive. Notably, less attention has been given to D-lactate, a stereoisomer found in the plasma of affected animals, which may lead to D-lactic acidosis.

Neonatal calf diarrhea is a frequent disease of calves and may result in dehydration and metabolic acidosis. The disease causes mortality and reduces growth and future productivity. Early identification of disease improves calf outcomes and thus there is increasing interest in technological methods for detecting disease.

Pancreatogenic diabetes also known as type 3c diabetes mellitus (DM) is a distinct entity often overlooked and misdiagnosed as type 2 diabetes. It results from exocrine pancreatic dysfunction involving both insulin and glucagon deficiencies due to damage to pancreatic beta and alpha cells. This case highlights a 46-year-old male presenting with diabetic ketoacidosis (DKA), a rare but severe complication of type 3c DM.

Resuscitation of burns remains a fundamental problem in burn care. Traditional endpoints such as mean arterial pressure and urine output guide fluid therapy for optimal resuscitation, but an ideal marker remains controversial. Base deficit and serum lactate are markers of global tissue acidosis and inadequate oxygenation.
