Coming from his clinical research in the field of infectiology and immunology the Viennese pediatrician Clemens von Pirquet (1874-1929) introduced the term "allergy" in 1906. With it he wanted to describe in general a change in reactivity of the organism, namely in time, quality and quantity. In contrast to the widely accepted use of the word "allergy" today, where it is restricted to specific immunologic hypersensitivity reactions against harmless foreign antigens, allergy in Pirquets sense comprised as general term likewise increases and decreases of the reactivity and so both "hyper-" and "hyposensitivity reactions". In the context with the expansion of allergy to the human predisposition Pirquet emphasized, that the change of reactivity does not only depend on exogenous substances (so called allergens), but also on endogenous factors of the organism itself. - The orientation towards the organism and his reactivity is the central idea, which can be found in the complete works of Pirquet from 1903 to 1929 and which is presented in this publication for the first time. It is the true essence of his theory of allergy.

The accurate diagnosis of central serous chorioretinopathy (CSC) and its distinction from differential diagnoses is crucial for effective patient counseling and treatment. This is achieved through a targeted patient history and multimodal imaging, which distinguish CSC from other ocular diseases also characterized by subretinal fluid and changes in the retinal pigment epithelium. In this article we identify the key differential diagnoses of CSC and illustrate the characteristic differential diagnostic features of each disease.

Since the initial description of central serous chorioretinopathy (CSC) by von Graefe in 1866, various risk factors for this condition have been described and discussed. In addition to established factors, such as the use of corticosteroids, psychosomatic factors, particularly stress, have increasingly come into focus in the literature. Studies have shown that psychological stress and emotional stressors not only impair well-being but also trigger physiological responses that could increase the risk of CSC.

Background: The increasing bureaucratic burden in everyday clinical practice impairs doctor-patient communication (DPC). Effective use of digital technologies, such as automated semantic speech recognition (ASR) with automated extraction of diagnostically relevant information can provide a solution.
Objective: The aim was to determine the extent to which ASR in conjunction with semantic information extraction for automated documentation of the doctor-patient dialogue (ADAPI) can be integrated into everyday clinical practice using the IVI routine as an example and whether patient care can be improved through process optimization.

Molecular glues (MGs) and proteolysis-targeting chimeras (PROTACs) are used to modulate protein-protein interactions (PPIs), via induced proximity between compounds that have little or no affinity for each other naturally. They promote either reversible inhibition or selective degradation of a target protein, including ones deemed undruggable by traditional therapeutics. Though native MS (nMS) is capable of analyzing multiprotein complexes, the behavior of these artificially induced compounds in the gas phase is still not fully understood, and the number of publications over the past few years is still rather limited.
