Kaemferol-3-methyl ether (1), quercetin-3-methyl ether (2), kaemferol-3,7-dimethyl ether (3), 3-caffeoyl quinic acid (4) and 3,4-O-dicaffeoyl quinic acid (5) have been isolated for the first time from the leaves of Psiadia terebinthina A.J. Scott (Asteraceae). The identity of the compounds 1-5 were confirmed by various spectroscopic methods.

Essential oils (EOs) extracted from six medicinal herbs and food plants [Cinnamomum zeylanicum (CZ), Psiadia arguta (PA), Psiadia terebinthina (PT), Citrus grandis (CGp), Citrus hystrix (CH), and Citrus reticulata (CR)] were studied for any inhibitory potential against key physiological enzymes involved in diabetes (α-glucosidase), skin aging (collagenase and elastase), and neurodegenerative disorders (acetylcholinesterase). Kinetic studies of the active EOs on the aforementioned enzymes were determined using Lineweaver-Burk plots. The intracellular and extracellular antimelanogenic potential of the EOs were evaluated on B16F10 mouse melanocytes.
