Comparative study of Mg/Al-LDH and Mg/Fe-LDH on adsorption and loss control of 2,4-dichlorophenoxyacetic acid.

Adv Biotechnol (Singap)

January 2025

School of Agriculture and Biotechnology, Sun Yat-Sen University, Shenzhen, Guangdong, 518107, People's Republic of China.

Low efficiency and high surface runoff of 2,4-dichlorophenoxyacetic acid (2,4-D) from agricultural field threaten crop yield severely. Layered double hydroxides (LDH) have shown promising adsorption properties for 2,4-D. However, the comparison of two environmentally friendly LDHs (i.

This paper presents a coaxial integrated macro-micro composite actuator. The macro-actuator of the macro-micro composite actuator is similar to a moving coil type voice coil motor, and a giant magnetostrictive actuator is installed coaxially inside it as a micro-actuator. In this work, kinetic models are established for both the macro-actuator and micro-actuator, and based on the models, an automatic disturbance rejection controller is adopted to control the macro-actuator, and a fuzzy sliding mode controller is adopted for the micro-actuator.

Performance evaluation of the amperometric total residual oxidant sensor with the electrochlorination-based Ballast Water Management System.

Water Sci Technol

January 2025

Qingdao Branch of Luoyang Ship Material Research Institute, 149-1, Zhuzhou Road, Laoshan District, Qingdao, Shandong, China; Sunrui Marine Environment Engineering Co., Ltd, Qingdao, Shandong, China.

Nowadays, performance studies on the amperometric total residual oxidant (TRO) sensor are only in the bench test stage and have not been conducted under specific maritime conditions with Ballast Water Management System (BWMS). In this study, the application of the amperometric TRO sensor in land-based biological efficacy (BE) testing, operation and maintenance (O&M) testing, as well as shipboard (SB) testing, was explored by comparing with the existing di-phenylene-diamine (DPD) TRO sensor. The results showed that the average TRO measurement deviation between the amperometric sensor and the DPD sensor was within ±10% in valid BE test cycles and the O&M testing exceeding 47 operating hours.

Magnetic Field-Accelerated Nonthermal Plasma Digestion for Field Pretreatment and Determination of Heavy Metals in Biological Samples.

Anal Chem

January 2025

Research Center for Analytical Sciences, Department of Chemistry, College of Sciences, Northeastern University, Box 332, Shenyang 110819, China.

Field analysis of heavy metals in biological samples is essential for assessing their potential threats to human health. The development of portable pretreatment and detection devices is crucial to address this challenge. Herein, a magnetic field-accelerated nonthermal plasma digestion device using dielectric barrier discharge (DBD) is designed for the rapid and environmentally friendly pretreatment of biological samples and subsequently combined with point discharge-optical emission spectrometry (PD-OES) for sensitive determination of heavy metals.

Purpose: We aimed to verify the impact of functional remediation (FR) on serum brain-derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF) and tyrosine kinase receptor B (TrkB) levels, to explore the biomechanism of FR intervention in patients with euthymic bipolar disorder (BD).

Patients And Methods: This is a randomized controlled, 12-week intervention study with participants randomized into the FR group (n=39) and the treatment as usual group (TAU, n=42) at the 1∶1 ratio. 17-Hamilton Depression Rating Scale-17 (HDRS-17), Young Mania Rating Scale (YMRS), and Measurement and Treatment Research to Improve Cognition in Schizophrenia (MATRICS) Consensus Cognitive Battery (MCCB) were used to assess affective symptoms and cognitive functioning both at baseline and week 12, respectively.
