This study presents two GC-MS SIM methods, in combination with large-volume injection programmed-temperature vaporization (LVI-PTV) injection, for the determination of 141 pesticide residues in apple juice. The sample was extracted with ACN, and coextractives were removed with primary/secondary amine sorbent. ACN extract (20 microL) was injected into a PTV injection port in solvent vent mode, and the pesticides were determined by GC-MS using retention time locking software. Deuterium-labeled pesticides (surrogate standards) were used for analytical quality control. In the validation experiments, pesticides recoveries were found to be 70-121% with RSDs of 4.6-21% (n = 6).

It is of great significance to develop sensors for trace pesticide residues detection in food. Herein, an electrochemiluminescence (ECL) sensor with high sensitivity for the detection of methyl parathion (MP) was constructed by combining of the acetylcholinesterase (AChE) enzyme-inhibited reaction with tris-2,2'-bipyridyl ruthenium Ru(bpy) -triethylamine (TEA) system for the first time. A new ECL probe of MIL-100 loaded with Ru(bpy) (Ru-MIL-100) was synthesized, and then Ru-MIL-100 and AChE were immobilized on the electrode with Nafion.

Background: The decline in wheat output in Ethiopia is widely attributed to pests, which has led to a rise in the usage of pesticides to boost productivity. The degree of pesticides sorption and degradation which influence the likelihood of environmental contamination from pesticides seeping into water bodies from soil has not yet been published for Ethiopian soils. The study aimed at to quantify the levels of pesticide residues, assess glyphosate's adsorption capabilities and degradation rate in the soils.

Beeswax, an FDA-approved component, has been extensively applied in feed, pharmaceutical, and food industries. The occurrence of neonicotinoid pesticides in beehive systems and their residues in beeswax have caused safety risks. Therefore, establishing a detection method for neonicotinoid pesticide residues in beeswax is crucial for ensuring its quality.

Understanding the penetration behaviour of pesticide active ingredient (AI) in the presence of adjuvants is important in managing application efficacy and minimizing residues. This study investigates the impact of non-ionic surfactant alkylphenol ethoxylates (APEOs) on the penetration of two pesticides, systemic thiabendazole and non-systemic phosmet, in apple and spinach. Surface-enhanced Raman Spectroscopy (SERS) was employed using two different detection methods, namely XZ depth mapping and XY area mapping, in conjunction with liquid Chromatography with tandem mass spectrometry (LC-MS/MS) to investigate the penetration of various pesticide formulations over time.

Elemental analysis, infrared spectroscopy, and X-ray single crystal diffraction indicated that a novel metal-organic framework (Tb-MOF) designated as 0.5n[Hbpy]·[Tb(dpa)(HO)]·4nHO was synthesized successfully, (where Hdpa = 5-(3, 4-dicarboxy- phenoxy) isophenic acid, bpy = protonated 4,4'-bipyridine). Tb-MOF adopts a 3D network structure based on Tb ions and the (dpa) ligand through µ: η, η, η, η binding modes.
