A new type of unstable resonator, suitable for a laser with a large medium cross section and a small or median output coupling, is presented. The resonator configuration, a modification of a negative-branch confocal unstable resonator, is numerically investigated. The basis of the theory is the Fresnel-Kirchhoff integral equation, and the calculations describe a passive resonator. With respect to output mirror tilting, the calculations confirm that the modified negative-branch confocal unstable resonator is less sensitive to mirror misalignments than the conventional negative-branch confocal unstable resonator. Furthermore, the modified resonator improves the beam quality in comparison with the conventional unstable resonator.

Department of Neurology, Huashan Hospital, Fudan University, Shanghai 200040, China.

A total of 7 patients with type 1 infratentorial superficial siderosis(iSS-1)in Memory Clinic at Huashan Hospital, Fudan University from March 2019 to March 2023 were respectively collected to analyze the clinical characteristics and treatment, and followed up for 12 months. There were 7 patients, 2 males and 5 females, aged 56 (49-60) years. The 4 patients who underwent cognitive assessment had varying degree of cognitive impairment, with 2 patients exhibiting severe executive function impairment.

This study addresses the challenges of electromagnetic interference and unstable signal transmission encountered by traditional sensors in detecting partial discharge (PD) within stator slots of large motors. A novel Extrinsic Fabry-Perot Interferometer (EFPI) sensor with a vibration-coupling air gap was designed to enhance the narrowband resonant detection sensitivity for PD ultrasonic signals by optimizing the diaphragm structure and coupling interface. The sensor features a quartz diaphragm with a thickness of 20 μM, an effective constrained radius of 0.

Background: Immune checkpoint inhibitors (ICIs) are effective antineoplastic agents but can cause adverse effects in many organ systems. Cardiovascular toxicities include arrhythmias, myocarditis, heart failure, takotsubo syndrome, pericarditis, coronary artery disease, and vasculitis.

Case Summary: A 66-year-old woman with Stage 3C2 endometrial carcinoma presented for her second cycle of pembrolizumab, carboplatin, and paclitaxel.

Purpose: Controversy exists regarding the optimal imaging modality (magnetic resonance imaging, ultrasound, stress radiographs) for identification of patients with grossly unstable thumb metacarpophalangeal (MCP) ulnar collateral ligament (UCL) injuries or Stener lesions. We characterize a radiographic sign for this purpose. The "displaced fleck sign" is a small avulsion fracture from the ulnar proximal phalanx base that is displaced proximal to the MCP joint line.

Analytical Quality Evaluation of the Tox21 Compound Library.

Chem Res Toxicol

The analytical quality of compounds subjected to high-throughput screening (HTS) impacts accurate interpretation of assay results, with poor quality samples potentially leading to false negatives or positives. The Tox21 "10K" library consists of over 8900 unique compounds, spanning a diverse landscape of environmental and pharmaceutical chemicals, posing opportunities and challenges for analytical quality control (QC) determinations. Tox21 sample plates stored in DMSO at ambient conditions for 0 (T0) and/or 4 months (T4), totaling more than 13K unique sample identifiers (Tox21 IDs), were subjected to various analyses, including liquid and gas chromatography mass spectrometry (LC-MS, GC-MS) and nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR).
