Objective: To assess consumer response to potential graphics, slogans, and messages for the consumer interface of the MyPyramid Food Guidance System.
Design: Qualitative research conducted in two phases, composed of focus groups and Web-TV testing.
Setting: Professional market research facilities in Baltimore, MD, and Chicago, IL, and Web-TV.
Participants: Phase 1,77 adults in 10 groups; Phase 2,407 adults via Web-TV.
Phenomenon Of Interest: Consumer response to potential graphic images, slogans, and messages for the Food Guidance System.
Analysis: A content analysis was used to summarize comments from focus groups and Web-TV tests into meaningful themes. Frequencies were calculated for responses.
Results: Respondents preferred the familiarity of the pyramid shape and found graphics and slogans that were personal, active, and positive to be appealing.
Conclusions And Implications: The consumer interface for the MyPyramid Food Guidance System was shaped by consumer feedback that identified appealing and useful elements and avoided elements that were potentially confusing or less meaningful. Consumers preferred images and messages that were perceived as new, personal, and active, but they desired some continuity with the original Pyramid shape.

Tyrosinase is a rate-limiting enzyme for melanogenesis and abnormal melanin production can be controlled by utilizing tyrosinase inhibitory substances. To develop potent and safe inhibitors of tyrosinase, complex tannins a narrowly distributed plant polyphenols were prepared from the fruit peel of Euryale ferox (EPTs) and then structurally characterized, as well as investigated for their inhibitory effects and the involved mechanisms against tyrosinase activity and melanogenesis. The structures of EPTs were established to consist of 63.

Objective: To provide insights and strategies for pegvaliase management in challenging cases with phenylketonuria (PKU) based on the first 5 years of experience with pegvaliase in real-world clinical practice.
Methods: Twelve PKU experts gathered during a one-day, in-person meeting to discuss clinical cases illustrating important lessons from their experiences treating patients with pegvaliase in real-world clinical practice. Challenges with pegvaliase experienced prior to and during treatment and corresponding strategies to overcome them were discussed.

Sodium-glucose cotransporter 2 inhibitors (SGLT2is), originally approved by the US Food and Drug Administration for glycemic control in type 2 diabetes mellitus (DM2), have shown substantial cardiovascular and renal benefits, leading to their expanded use in managing heart failure (HF) and chronic kidney disease in the outpatient setting. Despite these benefits, their use for inpatient hyperglycemia management is not universally endorsed due to safety concerns and inadequate data. However, emerging evidence suggests potential advantages of initiating SGLT2i treatment for patients during hospitalization in the setting of HF.

Weaning is essential for foal growth and development. We determined the intestinal flora structure of donkey foals at the end of weaning (PreW_4d) and three stages after weaning (PostW_4d, PostW_8d, and PostW_15d) to explore the effects of weaning on intestinal development of donkey foals. The results showed that the main microbial flora in the gut of the donkey foal were Firmicutes and Bacteroides, and the proportion of Firmicutes gradually increased with weaning, which was an important reflection of the donkey foal's adaptability to the transition from lactose liquid feed to plant fiber solid feed.

Currently few efficient decentralized composting reactors have been developed, and there is also little exploration into their comprehensive environmental impact and carbon emissions. This study developed a continuous pulse alternating ventilation composting pilot device, SC-PAVCR. Results demonstrated that SC-PAVCR effectively maintained the thermophilic phase during the 120-day operation period.
