Background Context: The surgical management of patients with cervical spondylotic myelopathy (CSM) remains challenging.

Purpose: To review the indications, techniques, and results of circumferential fusion for CSM.

Conclusion: Circumferential decompression and stabilization with instrumentation is a viable option to treat selected complex cervical spine disorders. It provides immediate stabilization of the spine, decreases anterior graft and instrumentation failure, and can obviate the need for postoperative halo immobilization.

Carpal tunnel syndrome (CTS) and cervical spondylosis (CS) are both common diseases, yet differentiation between the two is sometimes necessary. However, there are few evidence-based reviews on the differentiation of these conditions. This review examined the literature on the diagnosis of CTS and CS, focusing on how to distinguish between them.

Background: Cervical spondylotic myelopathy (CSM) is a leading cause of spinal cord dysfunction in adults, often progressing silently. Static MRI is the standard imaging tool but may miss compression caused by neck movement. Dynamic MRI, by capturing flexion and extension views, provides a clearer picture of spinal cord compression, aiding surgical planning and improving outcomes.

Objective: To assess the changes of thalamic metabolites before and after surgery in patients with Cervical Spondylotic Myelopathy (CSM) using Hydrogen Proton Magnetic Resonance Spectroscopy (H-MRS) and to investigate its association with improvement in neurological function.

Methods: Forty-eight CSM patients who underwent cervical decompression surgery from December 2022 to June 2023 were included, and 33 healthy volunteers were recruited. All subjects underwent bilateral thalamic H-MRS scans before the surgical procedure, and subsequently again 6 months later.

Ossification of the posterior longitudinal ligament of the vertebral column (OPLL) is a disease characterised by ectopic bone formation in the spinal ligament that causes progressive neurological impairment. However, there are no suitable treatments for OPLL. Here, we compared the general characteristics and haemostasis of patients with OPLL and those with cervical spondylotic myelopathy.

Purpose: The pathomechanism of dropped head syndrome (DHS) is unclear. In this study, we aimed to examine the features of the paraspinal cervical muscles in patients with DHS by analyzing the volume of these muscles using magnetic resonance imaging (MRI).

Methods: Thirty-six patients with DHS and 25 patients with cervical spondylotic myelopathy (controls) were enrolled.
