The utilization of single crystals is exponentially growing in optoelectronic devices due to their exceptional benefits, including high phase purity and the absence of grain boundaries. However, achieving single crystals with a porous structure poses significant challenges. In this study, we present a method for fabricating porous single crystals (porous-SC) of CsAgBiBr and related halide double perovskites using an infrared-assisted spin coating technique.

Butterfly wing eyespots are developmentally determined at the early pupal stage, when prospective eyespot focal cells underneath the pupal cuticle focal spot function as eyespot organizers in the pupal wing tissue. Here, we performed light microscopy and transmission electron microscopy (TEM) to describe cellular structures of pupal wing tissue with an eyespot organizer immediately after pupation using the Blue Pansy butterfly Junonia orithya. The pupal forewing dorsal epidermis was a pseudostratified monolayer of vertically elongated epidermal cells.

Background: Excessive daytime sleepiness is a common and early symptom of Alzheimer's disease (AD). The subcortical wake-promoting neurons in the lateral hypothalamic area, tuberomammillary nucleus (TMN), and locus coeruleus synchronize to maintain wakefulness/arousal. Although significant neuronal decline occurs in wake-promoting regions, the TMN histaminergic neurons remain relatively more intact than orexinergic and nor-adrenergic neurons.

Avian Influenza Virus (AIV) has been prevalent worldwide in recent years, resulting in substantial economic losses in the poultry industry. More importantly, AIV is capable of cross-species transmission among mammals, posing a dormant yet considerable threat to human health and safety. In this study, two rapid detection methods for AIV based on the CRISPR-Cas13a were developed.

Fused in sarcoma (FUS) is a causative factor of amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) and is believed to propagate pathologically by transmission from cell to cell. However, the mechanism underlying FUS release from cells, which is a critical step for the propagation system, remains poorly understood. This study conducted an analysis of the release of human and mouse FUS from neurons, revealing that human FUS is significantly released into the media compared to its mouse counterpart.
