The crystal and molecular structures of S-(2,3,4,6-tetra-O-acetyl-beta-d-glucopyranosyl)-S'-(2,3,4,6-tetra-O-acetyl-beta-d-galactopyranosyl)disulfide (1) and the mono-sulfoxide (3) of bis(2,3,4,6-tetra-O-acetyl-beta-d-glucopyranosyl)disulfide (2) are described. Comparison of 2 and 3, containing -S-S- and -S-S(O)- bonds, respectively, allows to delineate structural differences brought about by the different oxidation states of one of the sulfur atoms in carbohydrate disulfides.

Developing of molecular crystalline materials with light-induced multiple dynamic deformation in space dimension and photochromism on time scales has attracted much attention for its potential applications in actuators, sensoring and information storage. Nevertheless, organic crystals capable of both photoinduced dynamic effects and static color change are rare, particularly for multi-component cocrystals system. In this study, we first report the construction of charge transfer co-crystals allows their light-induced solid-to-liquid transition and photochromic behaviors to be controlled by trans-stilbene (TSB) as an electron donor and 3,4,5,6-Tetrafluorophthalonitrile (TFP) as an electron acceptor.

This study aimed to compare aesthetic perceptions and acceptance of SDF staining between Spanish and Italian parents, and assess weather acceptability is influenced by location, child's cooperation, or demographic background. Adenosine deaminases acting on RNAs (ADARs) are a class of RNA editing enzymes found in metazoa that catalyze the hydrolytic deamination of adenosine to inosine in duplexed RNA. Inosine is a nucleotide that can base pair with cytidine, therefore, inosine is interpreted by cellular processes as guanosine. ADARs are functionally important in RNA recoding events, RNA structure modulation, innate immunity, and can be harnessed for therapeutically-driven base editing to treat genetic disorders.
