The present article deals with the modulation of oscillatory electroosmotic flow (EOF) and solute dispersion across a nanochannel filled with an electrolyte solution surrounded by a layer of a dielectric liquid. The dielectric permittivity of the liquid layer adjacent to supporting rigid walls is taken to be lower than that of the electrolyte solution. Besides, the aforesaid liquid layer may bear additional mobile charges, , free lipid molecules, charged surfactant molecules , which in turn lead to a nonzero charge along the liquid-liquid interface.

Cancer survivors have an increased risk of developing Type 2 diabetes compared to the general population. Patients treated with cisplatin, a common chemotherapeutic agent, are more likely to develop metabolic syndrome and Type 2 diabetes than age- and sex-matched controls. Purpose: Comorbid insomnia and obstructive sleep apnea (COMISA) present significant clinical challenges, given their overlapping symptoms and detrimental effects on health. Only a few studies have explored sex differences in patients with obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) and COMISA. This retrospective study investigated sex differences in psychiatric symptoms and polysomnographic findings between patients with COMISA and those with OSA alone.

Mitochondria represent pivotal cellular organelles endowed with multifaceted functionalities encompassing cellular respiration, metabolic processes, calcium turnover, and the regulation of apoptosis, primarily through the generation of reactive oxygen species (ROS). Perturbations in mitochondrial dynamics have been intricately linked to the etiology of numerous cardiovascular pathologies, such as heart failure, ischemic heart disease, and various cardiomyopathies. Notably, recent attention has been directed towards the detrimental impact of micro- and nanoplastic pollution on mitochondrial integrity, an area underscored by a paucity of comprehensive investigations.

Obstructive sleep apnea (OSA), a highly prevalent and serious disorder with significant complications, causes considerable daytime and nighttime symptoms as well as long-term consequences and is yet an underdiagnosed and inadequately treated condition. Patients with OSA undergo frequent awakenings during the sleep cycle and find it impossible to get restorative sleep. Individuals are extremely fatigued, sleepy, and irritable throughout the day.
