Aim: To characterize the deep dentinal caries microbiota in teeth diagnosed with normal pulp with deep caries (NP), reversible pulpitis (RP), symptomatic irreversible pulpitis (SIP), and asymptomatic irreversible pulpitis (AIP), and to identify potential key pathogens associated with pulpitis progression, exploring their roles in disease advancement.
Methodology: In this cross-sectional study, we collected 108 dentinal caries samples, categorized into NP (n = 27), RP (n = 27), SIP (n = 27), and AIP (n = 27), according to the American Association of Endodontists' diagnostic criteria. 2 NP samples and 2 RP samples were excluded due to contamination.

The integration of RNA- and DNA-based assays enables the investigation of disease dynamics, specifically assessing the role of asymptomatic or subclinical infections in malaria transmission. Circular RNAs (circRNAs), a distinct category of noncoding RNAs, are implicated in numerous pathogenic mechanisms. As of now, research has yet to explore circRNAs' function in malaria infection.

Background: High-altitude exposure has been associated with an increased risk of hyperuricemia (HU) and gout, though the underlying mechanisms remain poorly understood.
Methods: We conducted a comprehensive analysis of the serum metabolome and phenome in both discovery and validation cohorts of Han Chinese individuals who underwent long-term moderate-altitude exposure (∼12 months), as well as in an independent cohort consisting of local Han Chinese and Tibetans residing in Nyingchi (>5 years). Beta-Alanine intervention was applied in hypoxanthine and potassium oxonate-induced in vitro and in vivo experiments.

Carotid endarterectomy remains the gold standard treatment for carotid stenosis. Although transfemoral carotid artery stenting is a valid alternative for high-surgical-risk patients, transcarotid artery revascularization (TCAR) has shown promising results. Clinical case: 68-year-old male with hypertension and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease who developed a stroke due to a severe high stenosis in the right internal carotid artery.
