Objective: To study chemical constituents from Cynanchum auriculatum.

Method: The chemical components were isolated and purified by silca gel, sephedex-LH-20 and ODS column chromatography. The chemical structures were elucidated on the basis of physicochemical properties and spectral data.

Result: Thirteen compounds were isolated and identified as: caudatin (1), metaplexigenin (2), cynauricuoside A (3), succinic acid (4), azelaic acid (5), wilforibiose (6), sucrose (7), 1-O-hexadecanolenin (8), beta-amyrin acetate (9), cynanchone A (10), acetylquinol (11), beta-sitosterol (12), daucosterol (13).

Conclusion: Compounds 4-9 were obtained from this plant for the first time.

This study aimed to evaluate the impact of different manipulation methods and storage environments on the microstructural, chemical, and mechanical properties of calcium-enriched mixture (CEM) cement. Four sample groups were examined, including nondried (ND-I) and dried (D-I) groups placed directly in an incubator, dried samples stored in phosphate-buffered saline (PBS) (D-P), and dried samples stored in distilled water (D-W). Various analyses, including Vickers microhardness, compressive strength, Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), X-ray diffraction (XRD), and scanning electron microscopy (SEM) with energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDS) were conducted after incubating the samples for 7 days.

Lemongrass (Poaceae) is one of the aromatic plants with strong odors. Traditionally, lemon grass oil has been used for the treatment of many diseases such as gastrointestinal cramps, high blood pressure, high body temperatures, and fatigue, and is also considered an antibacterial and anti-diarrheal agent. Therefore, this study aims to investigate volatile active constituents and a few important biological activities of the volatile oil of lemongrass (Cymbopogon citratus) grown in Oman.

Realizing a 3C Fast-Charging Practical Sodium Pouch Cell.

Angew Chem Int Ed Engl

January 2025

Beihang University, 37 Xue Yuan Road, Hai Dian District, 100191, Beijing, CHINA.

Sodium-ion batteries (SIBs), endowed with relatively small Stokes radius and low desolvation energy for Na+, are reckoned as a promising candidate for fast-charging endeavors. However, the C-rate charging capability of practical energy-dense sodium-ion pouch cells is currently limited to ≤1C, due to the high propensity for detrimental metallic Na plating on the hard carbon (HC) anode at elevated rates. Here, an ampere-hour-level sodium-ion pouch cell capable of 3C charging is successfully developed via phosphorus (P)-sulfur (S) interphase chemistry.

Currently, there remains a debate regarding the functional microorganisms responsible for the quality formation of Guang Chenpi (GCP). Thus, the metabolite profiles and microbial diversity of GCP samples subjected to natural treatment versus those sterilized via electron beam irradiation were investigated over a three-year period. It was found the main constituents of GCP were influenced both by spontaneous changes and microbial activity.
