Objective: To study the therapeutic mechanism of Kunyining (KYN) on the climacteric syndrome and provide the pharmacodynamic basis.
Method: Ovariectomized rats were used as model to observe the effect of KYN on weight and the index of the organ of OVX rats. The concentration of E2, FSH, LH, PRL, BGP and IL-2 in serum were measured by competitive radio-immunological methods.
Result: KYN could obviously increase the index of uterus and adrenal gland in OVX rats, and enhance the contents of E2, IL-2 and BGP. The level of FSH, LH, PRL in serum were decreased.
Conclusion: KYN can regulate beneficially the unbalanced reproductive endocrine-immune network, which is the pharmacological basis of KYN treating climacteric syndrome.

Adaptogens, comprising plants and mushrooms, modulate the immune system, energy balance, and various physiological processes, including reproduction. Despite their potential benefits, the impact of adaptogens on reproductive function remains understudied. This review examines the effects of common adaptogens on male and female reproductive functions, highlighting their regulation of neuro-endocrine-immune interactions crucial for reproduction.

Successful pregnancy relies on a coordinated interplay between endocrine, immune, and metabolic processes to sustain fetal growth and development. The orchestration of these processes involves multiple signaling pathways driving cell proliferation, differentiation, angiogenesis, and immune regulation necessary for a healthy pregnancy. Among the molecules supporting placental development and maternal tolerance, the families of pregnancy-specific glycoproteins and galectins are of great interest in reproductive biology.

Backgrounds: The immunomodulatory properties of human chorionic gonadotrophin (hCG) have been identified to be critical for successful pregnancy. However, the effects of hCG on peripheral γδT cells during early pregnancy have not been reported previously.
Methods: We cocultured the purified γδT cells and peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMCs) with early pregnancy-relevant hCG concentrations and investigated the changes in the immune functional characteristics of γδT cells via flow cytometry assays.
