By controlling nonresonant dynamic Stark shifts it is possible to effectively decouple the intramolecular couplings of simple molecules. We have illustrated this effect in the 1 (1)Sigma(u)-->1 (3)Pi(u) transition in Rb(2). The laser scheme implies two important control knobs: the laser frequency, which must be chosen to avoid both single and multiphoton resonances and to select different electronic environments for the singlet and triplet states, and the pulse intensity, which must amplify the asymmetry in the dynamic polarizabilities that allows the decoupling, avoiding undesired strong-pulse effects. The mechanism of the scheme implies not only brute-force energy shifts but also light-induced reshaping of the potentials to avoid the undesired crossings. Quantitative aspects of the method are analyzed by using molecular models of increasing complexity for Rb(2).

High-Temperature, Reversible, and Robust Thermochromic Fluorescence Based on Rb MnBr (H O) for Anti-Counterfeiting.

Thermochromic fluorescent materials (TFMs) characterized by noticeable emission color variation with temperature have attracted pervasive attention for their frontier application in stimulus-response and optical encryption technologies. However, existing TFMs typically suffer from weak PL reversibility as well as limited mild operating temperature and severe temperature PL quenching. PL switching under extreme conditions such as high temperature will undoubtedly improve encryption security, while it is still challenging for present TFMs.

Single crystals of three novel transition-metal oxalates, dirubidium di-aqua-dioxalatocobalt(II) dihydrate or dirubidium cobalt(II) bis-(oxalate) tetra-hydrate, Rb[Co(CO)(HO)]·2HO, (I), -poly[dirubidium [[di-chlorido-cobalt(II)]-μ-oxalato]] or dirubidium cobalt(II) dichloride oxalate, {Rb[CoCl(CO)]} , (II), and poly[dipotassium [tri-μ-oxalato-copper(II)dilithium] dihydrate] or dipotassium dilithium copper(II) tris-(oxalate) dihydrate, {K[LiCu(CO)]·2HO} , (III), have been grown under hydro-thermal conditions and their crystal structures determined using single-crystal X-ray diffraction. The structure of (I) exhibits isolated octa-hedral [Co(CO)(HO)] units, whereas (II) consists of chains of Co ions bridged by bidentate oxalato ligands and (III) displays a novel tri-periodic network of Li and Cu ions linked by oxalato bridging ligands.

Comparison of two methods for ginsenosides quantitation.

J Sep Sci

March 2023

R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Co, Winston-Salem, North Carolina, USA.

The present study provides a comparison of two liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry methods for ginsenosides analysis. The two methods have the same liquid chromatography separation procedure, and both use tandem mass spectrometry detection. However, one method uses multiple reaction monitoring transitions commonly recommended in the literature starting with [M + Na] as the molecular ions and with detection of specific fragment ions from the molecules M, while the other is an original method using [M + Cs] as molecular ions and Cs as fragment ion.

A new liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry (LC-MS/MS) method was developed for the analysis of ginsenosides in three Panax ginseng reference materials (RMs). Extraction procedures were optimized to recover neutral and malonyl-ginsenosides using a methanol-water extraction under basic conditions. Optimized mass fragmentation transitions were obtained for the development of a multiple reaction monitoring (MRM) detection method with electrospray ionization in negative and positive ion mode.

The C(2)Π state in Rb. Observation and deperturbation.

We report a systematic study of the C(2)Πelectronic state in rubidium dimer, observed in polarization labelling spectroscopy experiment through the C ← XΣ transitions recorded under rotational resolution in two isotopologues Rb and RbRb. Regularity of the vibrational progressions was distorted by numerous interactions with the surrounding 2Σ, 2Πand 3Σstates. Deperturbation was performed by coupled-channels analysis taking into account spin-orbit and rotational interactions.
