The isostructural complexes [{Tp'W(CO)(2)(eta(2)-C(2)S(2))}(2)M] (M = Ni, Pd, Pt) show that the eta(2)-C,C'-alkyne complexes of acetylenedithiolate at [Tp'W(CO)(2)](+) can generally act as dithiolate chelate ligands, leading to dithiolene type complexes.

Electrochemical water oxidation holds immense potential for sustainable energy generation, splitting water into clean-burning hydrogen and life-giving oxygen. However, a key roadblock lies in the sluggish nature of the oxygen evolution reaction (OER). Finding stable, cost-effective, and environmentally friendly catalysts with high OER efficiency is crucial to unlock this technology's full potential.

A series of homoleptic Ni bis-1,1-dithiolates, [Ni(SCRR')] (R=CN, R'=CN, COEt, CONH, Ph, Ph-4-Cl, Ph-4-OMe, Ph-4-NO, Ph-3-CF, Ph-4-CF, Ph-4-CN; R=NO, R'=H; R=R'=COEt) have been synthesized from the reaction of the alkali metal salt of the ligand and nickel chloride, and isolated as tetraphenylphosphonium or tetrabutylammonium salts. The complexes were characterized by X-ray crystallography, high-resolution mass spectrometry, and infrared (IR), nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) and electronic absorption spectroscopies. The molecular structures show a rigidly square planar Ni(II) center linking two four-membered chelate rings whose dimensions are constant across the series.

Development of outstanding, cost-effective and elastic hydrogels as bioadhesive using Thiol-Ene click chemistry was verified. The visible light photocrosslinkable hydrogels composed of methacrylated chitosan/2,2'-(Ethylenedioxy) diethanethiol formed in presence of eosin-Y photoinitiator. Such hydrogels hold great promise for wound healing applications due to their tunable properties.

With rapid industrialization and urbanization, numerous wastewater contains elevated concentration of Hg(II), and its concentration must be reduced to the discharge limit, so as not to cause serious pollution to the environment. In this paper, a modified chitosan adsorbent material, AMT-DMTD-CS (CS = chitosan, AMT = 2-amino-5-mercapto-1,3,4-thiadiazole, DMTD = 1,3,4-thiadiazole-2,5-dithiol) was prepared. FT-IR, XPS, elemental analysis, and FE-SEM confirmed that AMT and DMTD were successfully grafted covalently onto CS, with BET analysis showing a specific surface area of 105.
