Our literature review describes the complicated intersection of the physician/surgeon's professional practice and their spouse/domestic partner, acknowledging that the existing literature specific to plastic surgeons is limited. Nevertheless, the broader research of physicians and other surgical fields identifies many risk factors for work-home conflicts, which can negatively impact the surgeon and the spouse. Furthermore, certain studied groups have other unique challenges and considerations, such as women surgeons, residents, and dual-physician couples.

Purpose: Corticosteroids are recommended as a first-line treatment for idiopathic granulomatous mastitis (IGM), a disease that usually occurs in young women. Corticosteroid phobia is a fear of corticosteroids and one of the main reasons for poor treatment compliance. Despite the increasing recognition of corticosteroid phobia, there has been a lack of studies on this issue in IGM.

Purpose: The objective of this study is to evaluate whether the nationwide establishment and institutionalization of a peer-support program, is economically justified given the potential positive effects on the Second Victim Phenomenon (SVP) among healthcare professionals in Germany.
Methods: A comprehensive methodological approach was employed, using data from the SeViD studies to assess the prevalence and duration of SVP among physicians and nurses in Germany. Economic impact assessments were conducted to estimate the potential cost savings associated with implementing a peer-support program.
