Objective: The ability of different MRI sequences to depict characteristic findings suggestive of ventriculitis was compared.
Conclusion: The study comprised 20 brain MRI studies in 13 patients who had a final diagnosis of ventriculitis. Both diffusion-weighted imaging and FLAIR imaging were equally and highly sensitive for detecting intraventricular debris and pus--the most common MRI finding suggestive of ventriculitis. FLAIR imaging was superior to contrast-enhanced T1-weighted imaging for depicting ventricular wall abnormalities--a less common finding that also is suggestive of ventriculitis.

Neuronal Ceroid Lipofuscinosis type 2 is a rare pathology affecting mainly the central nervous system (CNS) and retina, and is caused by variants in the gene encoding the lysosomal enzyme tripeptidyl peptidase 1. Therapy with enzyme replacement through the brain infusion of the orphan drug cerliponase alfa, a recombinant human tripeptidyl peptidase 1 enzyme replacement therapy delivered via intracerebroventricular infusion, has been approved for Neuronal Ceroid Lipofuscinosis type 2 disease. The safety profile of cerliponase alfa has been established based on pre-authorization studies; currently, no post-marketing investigation has been performed to confirm it.

Gizzard erosion and ulceration syndrome (GEUS) is caused by a fowl adenovirus serotype 1 (FAdV-1) and was first reported in laying hens in Japan in 1993. This syndrome has emerged as an epizootic in Morocco since 2014, causing significant economic losses for the poultry industry, but no involvement of a FAdV has been confirmed. Thus, the objective of this work was to assess GEUS cases that occurred in the country and to determine the role of FAdVs in their occurrence.
