Noise Health
January 2025
School of Medicine, National Yang Ming Chiao Tung University, Taiwan.
Objective: This study investigated the long-term health risks associated with occupational noise exposure. By using 9 years of health examination data from a major manufacturing company in Taiwan, this study compared the health indices of employees in noise-intensive and non-noise-intensive work environments.
Methods: A retrospective analysis of 6278 health examination reports spanning 9 years was conducted to compare 20 health indices among 166 employees evenly distributed between noise-intensive and non-noise-intensive workgroups.

Background: Atopic dermatitis (AD) is a disease of multifactorial etiology that affects the quality of life of those afflicted.
Objective: The degree of control of patients with AD over 12 years of age was determined with the Atopic Dermatitis Control Instrument (ADCT).
Material And Methods: This observational, cross-sectional, descriptive study included patients with AD who were evaluated with a self-administered instrument, the ADCT.

Introduction And Hypothesis: Patients with differences in sex development or intersex traits (DSD/I) struggle to find clinically competent care in adulthood. We sought to describe the surgical exposure of Urogynecology and Reconstructive Pelvic Surgery (URPS) fellows who had previously trained in ObGyn (URPS-Gyn) to patients with DSD/I and their interest in performing 18 relevant procedures. We hypothesized that most graduating fellows would not have had exposure to many of the surgeries.

Wisconsin Alzheimer's Disease Research Center, University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health, Madison, WI, USA.
Background: Recent advances in Alzheimer's disease (AD) temporal biomarker modeling have revealed considerable heterogeneity in age at amyloid onset, and recently we and others identified sex and APOE differences in tau onset age and subsequent dementia development. Here we assessed whether amyloid burden, APOE-ε4 dose, and sex interact to predict estimated T+ onset age (ETOA).
Methods: Alzheimer's Disease Neuroimaging Initiative participants (N=911, Table 1) underwent serial PET imaging to quantify global cortical amyloid ([18F]Florbetapir SUVR, [18F]Florbetaben SUVR) and meta-temporal tau ([18F]Flortaucipir SUVR) burden.
