Objectives: This study evaluated the impact of different doses of gabapentin and pregabalin on fracture healing in a rat femoral shaft model, with histological, radiological, and biomechanical assessments.
Materials And Methods: Seventy male Wistar albino rats were divided into five groups: control, low-dose gabapentin (GBP-L, 300 mg/day), high-dose gabapentin (GBP-H, 3600 mg/day), low-dose pregabalin (PRG-L, 150 mg/day), and high-dose pregabalin (PRG-H, 600 mg/day), based on human equivalent doses. Bilateral femoral fractures were induced; the right femurs were prepared for radiological examination using microtomography, followed by histological analysis, whereas the left femurs were allocated for biomechanical testing.

This study was designed as a prospective trial with retrospective control group to determine feasibility for implementing a high-dose prolonged magnesium sulfate infusion for adjuvant analgesia in the pediatric intensive care unit. Approval was granted for study of children receiving total pancreatectomy with islet cell autotransplantation and liver transplantation ages 3-18 years.

To investigate the protective role of high dose melatonin concerning myocardial I/R injury and inflammation in patients undergoing on-pump coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG) surgery by evaluating IR/inflammatory biomarkers and clinical outcomes. This was a prospective; randomized; single-blinded placebo-controlled study conducted at cardio-thoracic surgery department of the Academy of the Cardiovascular and Thoracic Surgery, Ain Shams University.
