Genetic differentiation was investigated among 54 Indonesian species of Dipterocarpaceae, a dominant tree family in Asian tropical rainforests, using amplified fragment length polymorphism markers. The tree developed from the resultant unweighted pair group method using arithmetic averages clearly separated all investigated dipterocarps into two major groups that corresponded to tribe Dipterocarpeae and tribe Shoreae, respectively. These results are in accordance with the topology of molecular phylogenetic trees derived from PCR-restriction fragment length polymorphism analysis of chloroplast DNA and generally support the traditional taxonomic assessments. The possibility of interspecific hybridization is also discussed.

Recombinant adeno-associated virus (rAAV) has emerged as the vector of choice for in vivo gene delivery, with numerous clinical trials underway for the treatment of various human diseases. Utilizing rAAV in gene therapy requires a highly precise quantification method to determine the viral genome titer and further establish the optimal therapeutic dosage for a rAAV product. The conventional single-channel droplet digital PCR (1D ddPCR) method offers only partial information regarding the viral vector genome titer, lacking insights into its integrity.

This work is focused on the impact of temperature and deformation on the mechanical properties, specifically the elastic modulus () of the amorphous regions in semicrystalline polymers, using polypropylene as a case study. It has been shown that increasing temperature results in an decrease due to the enhanced mobility of polymer chains, triggered by the activation of α relaxation processes within the crystalline component. Consequently, rising temperature reduces the "stiffening" effect of the crystalline regions on the interlamellar layers.
