Examinations of patients with various clinical forms of salmonellosis have shown that the peripheral blood lymphocytes survival rate increases under the effect of hydrocortisone in cases with a protracted course of the disease. Measurements of the hydrocortisone-resistant population of lymphocytes may be used for the prediction of salmonellosis transformation into a protracted form and of prolonged bacterial carriership.
