Unlabelled: Skin reactions to drugs or infections can be very important.

Case Report: A 14-year-old boy developed fever, a diffuse pustular rash and a respiratory distress. Chest X-rays and serology were consistent with an acute Chlamydia pneumoniae infection. A skin biopsy revealed an acute generalized exanthematous pustulosis.

Conclusion: Acute generalized exanthematous pustulosis (AGEP) is a disease manifested by a diffuse eruption of follicular sterile pustules. Most of the cases are drug induced, but they may be secondary to viral or bacterial infections. We report the first case of AGEP in a child with an acute C. pneumoniae infection.

Unlabelled: The SARS-CoV-2 JN.1 lineage emerged in late 2023 and quickly replaced the XBB lineages, becoming the predominant Omicron variant worldwide in 2024. We estimate the epidemiologic impact of this SARS-CoV-2 lineage replacement in Brazil and we further assessed the cross-reactive neutralizing antibody (NAb) responses in a cohort of convalescent Brazilian patients infected during 2023.

Acute generalized exanthematous pustulosis is a severe cutaneous adverse reaction characterized by the rapid onset of nonfollicular, sterile pustules on an erythematous base, typically accompanied by fever (≥38 °C), neutrophilia (7.0 × 10⁹/L), and characteristic histopathological features. This case report presents the first documented instance of acute generalized exanthematous pustulosis after hyaluronic acid viscosupplementation.
