The review outlines the presence and function of TGF-beta and PDGF family members in invertebrates. TGF-beta and PDGF play an important role in development, in immune and neuroendocrine responses and in the wound repair by activating the classical transduction pathways. Generally speaking, these cytokines appear very early in evolution and conserve their functions.

Objective: To clarify the role of concentrated growth factors (CGF) in the treatment of periodontal cement defects using calcium phosphate cement (CPC) with self-curing properties.
Methods: Thirty-six intrabony defects were randomly divided into two groups. The experimental group received CGF+CPC treatment (=18), while the control group received CPC treatment alone (=18).
The development of an effective and rapid method for healing the skin is of crucial importance. In this study, we prepared a porous scaffold made of polycaprolactone (PCL) and carbon quantum dots (CQDs), Fe, and Chitosan (Cs) as the scaffold core to cover the skin. Then evaluated antibacterial, biocompatibility, and wound healing properties as well as the expression of genes effective in wound healing.

Platelet-rich plasma (PRP) has gained increasing recognition as a promising therapeutic agent in managing rheumatic diseases. Conventional treatments, including nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs), corticosteroids, and disease-modifying antirheumatic drugs (DMARDs), primarily act on reducing inflammation but fail to address the underlying mechanisms of connective tissue degradation. PRP, an autologous preparation enriched with growth factors and bioactive molecules, is pivotal in modulating inflammation and fostering tissue regeneration.

Fibroblasts display complex functions associated with distinct gene expression profiles that influence matrix production and cell communications and the autonomy of tissue development and repair. Thrombospondin-2 (TSP-2), produced by fibroblasts, is a potent angiogenesis inhibitor and negatively associated with tissue repair. Single-cell (sc) sequencing analysis on WT and TSP2KO skin fibroblasts demonstrate distinct cell heterogeneity.

Introduction: The purpose of this study was to compare the growth factor concentrations in undiluted autologous platelet-rich plasma (APRP) and autologous serum (AS) eye drops.
Methods: This was a single-center, prospective trial conducted in a tertiary university hospital in Bangkok, Thailand. Ninety-six patients with moderate-to-severe dry eye disease, who were randomly assigned to receive either 100% APRP or 100% AS, were enrolled in the study.
